I knew when I created The Manor, I wanted to create a space that could hold any beauty, any creativity that had my attention at the time. These days my attention is being held captive by the love of faces. I’m loving doing charcoal portraiture and can’t get over all the remarkable and fascinating details held there. A face tells a million stories, if you’ll give it long enough attention. In the 20+ hours it takes me to do a single piece, I’m almost always reminded to give the real people in my life more attention, more listening, more eye contact👀
People are striking. People are interesting. People bear the image of God.
