Better is not the same as sustainable.

Preliminary results from the 2025–26 U.S. Beekeeping Survey estimate a 39.9% annual loss of managed honey bee colonies nationwide. While that’s an improvement from last year, losses remain high, with commercial beekeepers reporting an estimated 38.7% annual loss.

For beekeepers, rebuilding lost colonies means continued costs, resources, and pressure on operations essential to pollination and agriculture.

We want to hear from YOU! Do you think this level of colony loss is sustainable for the beekeeping industry?

- Yes, it's manageable
- No, it's unsustainable
- Unsure

Cast your vote and share your thoughts in the comments! What will it take to create a more sustainable future for beekeeping?
