We love when we get a process video from Vince, one of the co-founders of our partner brand, . Here he is, receiving a bag of dried natural dyestuffs: a bag of dried Peruvian walnut leaves that they will be using to dye Dark Oak⁠

Walnut leaves have long been used in natural dyeing to produce warm, enduring browns. In Peru, walnut trees grow at high altitudes in the⁠
Andes, typically between 2,800 and 3,500 meters (9,200–11,500 ft), where cooler climates contribute to the richness of the dye material ⁠

Dark Oak is a deep, grounded brown inspired by aged wood and forest landscapes 🪵 ⁠

Join us for our inaugural textile tour to Peru, in collaboration with our partner brand, KINUA!⁠

We're excited to invite you to join us in Peru in 2027 for a journey that celebrates textiles not just as beautiful objects, but as living expressions of culture, community, and place.⁠

Throughout our travels, we'll experience Peru through the hands of the people who keep these traditions alive. We'll meet KINUA's partner artisans, learn about natural dyeing techniques with the founders of KINUA (second pic is Maira! hi!), see how cotton, alpaca, and wool fibers are transformed into extraordinary textiles, and gain a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and heritage behind of KINUA's naturally dyed yarns and Peruvian textiles 🌱⁠

Of course, this journey is about more than fiber. We'll explore vibrant markets, discover ancient Incan sites, wander through the Sacred Valley, and experience the incredible beauty of Machu Picchu. Along the way we'll enjoy Peru's renowned cuisine, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and the warmth and hospitality that make this country unforgettable.⁠

Whether you're a knitter, weaver, spinner, dyer, or simply someone who loves textiles and meaningful travel, this trip offers the chance to see the craft you love from an entirely new perspective.⁠

Woodnote DK is a blend of blend of 3 wools: Bluefaced Leicester, Masham, and Merino. Bluefaced Leicester sheep, the majority fiber in Woodnote DK, produces a fine, long-staple wool that is known for its softness and luster 🌟 100% of Baa Ram Ewe's wool comes from non-mulesed sheep⁠

Meet The Skinny Luxury Blend, The Fi*****ng Luxury Blend, & The Fuzzy, three of naturally dyed yarns! 🌱⁠

The Skinny Luxury Blend and the Fi*****ng Luxury Blend have the same fiber blend of 80% Fine Peruvian merino wool + 20% baby suri alpaca! ⁠

👉️ The Skinny is an aran weight, single-ply yarn ⁠
👉️ The Fi*****ng is a fi*****ng weight, plied yarn⁠

And The Fuzzy, the yarn that has us all swooning: it's a blend of 54% baby alpaca, 22% super kid mohair, and 24% mulberry silk that is beyond soft ☁️⁠

Speaking of naturally dyed, uses madder to make Strawberry, the color shown here on the 3 bases 🍓 Strawberry is an intense, vibrant red with a warm, slightly orange undertone; as you can see, the dyestuff takes a little different from fiber blend to fiber blend 🤲⁠

We’re excited to return to Uruguay from October 22 - November 3, 2026 🙌
