Letโ€™s welcome Runeโ€™s family of four from Denmark to our Hanoi Family Quest, excited to finally experience Vietnam after hearing so many recommendations from their friends.

The family happily tried everything along the way, from local street food to cultural corners of the Old Quarter with the guide of Chi. Among all the delicious dishes we ate, our friends especially loved โ€œphแปŸ gร โ€ - chicken noodles soup. Sitting on tiny stools and a tiny table on the sidewalk, everyone soaked in a truly local experience, they also learned how to offer chopsticks - a Vietnamese cultural table etiquette.

Beyond the flavors, it was the little moments that made the day special. โ€œClick, clickโ€ - The little ones happily captured everything along the way with their small camera. At the wooden stamp shop, the kids watched closely, admiring the skills and dedication that Mr Toร n - the artisan put in every stamp. Their eyes lit up with joy when he gave them chocolate candies. How sweet was that! And their favorite part? Bamboo dragonfly painting! Rune enjoyed the activity too, proudly creating his own version in red and yellow, inspired by both the Vietnamese and Danish flags.

Hannah, Cara and Steven joined Chi (Chihara) on this food tour, each bringing their own story, but all have one thing in common: the love for Vietnamese food and culture! With Chi leading the way through Hanoi streets, tiny alleys and local food spots that they wouldn't have found on their own, everyone had such a great time exploring the flavors of Hanoi.

The biggest surprise of the night was โ€œbรกnh khรบcโ€ - sticky rice with cudweed, mung beans and pork. It wasn't a dish anyone expected to try, yet it quickly became one of the favourites, together with โ€œchรจโ€ - Vietnamese sweet soup. Around the table, everyone compared chopstick skills, swapped travel stories, and by the last stop, they were already laughing like they'd known each other for days.

Tucked away in the heart of Hanoiโ€™s Old Quarter, thereโ€™s a little cafรฉ where time seems to pause. No flashy signs, no touristy buzz - just the scent of strong coffee, a quiet courtyard, and a rooftop view thatโ€™ll stop you in your tracks.

To find it, youโ€™ll need a bit of curiosity (and maybe a sense of adventure). Step into a silk shop, sneak down a narrow alley, and youโ€™ll end up in a hidden courtyard wrapped in vines and weathered bricks.
