Tucked away inside , Clear Lake's newest actual "hidden gem" delivers on all fronts.

​We spent the evening at Housekeeping Speakeasy with a group of friends, and the redesign is—cozy, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully expanded.

​Beyond the great atmosphere, the bartender is serving genuinely fantastic cocktails, paired with a food menu that doesn't skimp on quality or portion size.

Our last day in Japan, we took a train across greater Tokyo to the Musashino area. We had some more great food at a couple of Izakayas, watched a few bands play into the evening then made our way back to our apartment for one final night. YVR in the morning and YBR the next day. What a crazy adventure this has been with the best travel partner ever... ♥️Karen. ♥️🇯🇵🇻🇳🇮🇩🇱🇦🇹🇭.

We ended up choosing another charming neighborhood in Tokyo, Kameido. Our apartment was a stone's throw away from a vibrant street lined with fish flag kites and filled with cozy izakayas and local stores. With Kameido station nearby, we could easily access Tokyo's vast and overwhelming metro and JR lines. We seized the opportunity to try a Nomihodai plan, which offered unlimited drinks for 90 minutes at around $15. What a blast with tasty food! ♥️🇯🇵

Osaka treated us well. We finished up our visit in our own neighborhood. Some lunch at one of the covered walking streets and then dinner at a six seat local okinomiaki spot. We may end our travel each year here. ありがとう Osaka Arigatō. ♥️🇯🇵

After a massive day of discovery, Karen spotted this izakaya tucked away off the shopping arcade near our apartment. 🏮Turns out, the owner has a collection of about 20,000 classical CDs and spins them through these incredible, giant vintage speakers. We stayed for a few drinks, chatted with the locals, and just let the music take over. Osaka, you always have a surprise up your sleeve. ♥️🇯🇵

I scored Kraftwerk tickets at the Grand Cube in Osaka online before landing. No idea I'd be in the 2nd row! What a show with a enthusiastic crowd. Afterward, I headed to the hidden, Bar K - their whisky sour was the best I've tasted! The owner had an amazing turntable setup playing jazz, and he even spun my new Kraftwerk record. Sounded sublime! ♥️🇯🇵
