Tonight I bring you something different I stumbled upon several weeks back. This is double barreled 12 point bourbon from I had never seen or heard of this one before but I like trying new and different stuff so I had to give it a shot. This is 92 proof that is initially put in new charred white oak barrels then finished in brandy barrels.
On the nose I definitely pick up the brandy. Has a nice sweetness with plums, raisins, and vanilla
The nose follows over to the palate pretty well I think. Getting some sweet grapes, vanilla, and of course hints of brandy.
It doesn’t have a lot of burn and is really pretty smooth. I really enjoy this one and honestly way better than I was expecting. Glad I saw it and decided to give it a try.

This is the I picked up while visiting the distillery a few weeks back. This is the rye single barrel barrel proof. This bottle comes in at 134.5 proof
On the nose there’s black pepper, raisin, rye, caramel.
The palate is met with the black pepper, cinnamon, rye, baking spices, and maybe some butterscotch. Also carries a lot of spice and heat. There’s no questioning the proof on this one.
Overall I absolutely LOVE this one. The flavors are amazing and I really like the heat it brings. It’s definitely not for newbies or someone who you’re trying to get into whiskey. But if you enjoy a higher proof with lots of flavor that lingers. Then you have to try this one.

Spent the weekend in Tennessee and visited and . Picked up an amazing bottle of Jack Daniels single barrel barel proof rye. This particular bottle comes in at 134.5 proof. Then at Chattanooga I picked up their new experimental batch 36. It’s a herbal infused whiskey. I’ll have full reviews on both soon.

Tonight I opened my small batch to bring the weekend to an end. This is my first time ever trying this one and I’ve really been looking forward to seeing if it’s worth all the hype.
On the nose I get your typical brown sugar and vanilla. Also get some dried raisins, fresh baked bread, and dark cherries.
In the palate those same notes carry over. The sweet raisins I pick up strongly along with some floral notes and oak.
Overall a very nice and enjoyable pour. I do understand all the hype a little better now. However there are a few bottles I can think of at a lower price point I would chose 1st. for example.
Still a very good bottle though and glad I bought it. No regrets.

Tonight’s pour is Hand Picked selection. This particular bottle is from .package.store
This one was barreled on 11/07/18 and comes in at a nice 119 proof.
On the nose you can immediately pick up the proof. I get vanilla, caramel, and strong cinnamon
Upon first sip you get the heat from the high proof that I really enjoy. Has strong notes of cinnamon candy that reminds me of redhot candies I use to eat as a kid. Following is vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, and oak.
Lots of strong flavors with this one the I enjoyed very much. Looking forward to my next pour.

Drove up to Chattanooga today for lunch so of course we had to stop by
Decided to pick up a bottle of their batch 035 which is finished in a sherry cask. Being a huge fan of their whiskey I can’t wait to pop this one open.

Picked up this bottle of for my dad for Christmas. Of course we had to pop it open and give it a try. This is a rye done in collaboration with coming in at a nice 100 proof.
On the nose it was very pleasant with some apple, peach, oak, and some baking spice.
On the palate it was hard for me to pull all the flavors I was getting on this one. I did get the peach, and oak. Also picked up some green tea and what I believe to be sage. Overall it had a nice oily feel on the mouth and was a very enjoyable pour.
