This wasn’t an easy call, but it was the right one for the festival’s long-term vision. While we pause this edition, our commitment to Sri Lanka’s culinary community remains unchanged.

To everyone who believed in the journey — thank you. Your passion, generosity, and excitement continue to inspire us, and we’re already looking ahead to what comes next.

This year, Galle Gourmet brings the island’s finest chefs and experiences to a collection of stunning spaces, from heritage mansions in the Fort to clifftop resorts and lakeside sanctuaries.

In Galle, dining has always carried a sense of theatre. From colonial verandas where cinnamon planters once feasted, to fisherman’s homes where the day’s catch was laid out on banana leaves — meals have always been moments of connection.

To understand Gourmet Galle is to understand the ingredients that shape the soul of the south:

🌿 Karapincha – the fragrant heartbeat of our curries, grounding every bite with its deep, earthy green.
🍋 Goraka – tart, bold, and uncompromising, it gives Sri Lankan flavour its fearless edge.
🥭 Jackfruit – a tree that feeds generations, offering everything from tender curries to smoky roasts.
🌱 Cinnamon – the spice that once drew the world to our shores, still perfuming kitchens and stories today.
🐟 Tuna – pulled from southern waters at dawn, carrying the salt and power of the ocean itself.
