I've been obsessed with these crunchy chick peas snacks for a while, but ever since I discovered I was determined to perfect my method. Stephen helped me do a blind taste-test of 3 different brands to optimize price, taste and texture. Bonus points if my 2 year old liked them!

Our store brand canned beans cost 99 cents a can, while the dried ones cost $1.89 for 16 ounces. Busch's came in the most expensive at $1.69 for 12 ounces. And the winner is......

GIANT EAGLE CANNED! Once dried, they have a lighter crunchy texture and absorbed the smoked paprika seasoning best.

I'm giving myself an A+ on my St. Paddy's Day test run. Instant Pot corned beef and cabbage, seasoned with my own spice blend (rather than the included packet), then wrapped up into Irish Egg Rolls! I'm not the biggest fan of corned beef, but I would gladly eat these again.

I did a comparison of cooking styles, and surprisingly, there was very little difference between pan fried in avocado oil vs. baked in my convection oven! So if you prefer to air fry, I'm confident that would work just as well.

I almost want to call this my lazy meal, but let's be honest, they're just my go-to junk meal! These take some work, but when you really WANT junk food, sometimes you just want junk food. These spicy, bacon-wrapped hot dogs are inspired by a local restaurant that we don't get to go to much since the kiddo. We're also getting excited for this season at Scooter's World Famous Dawg House on Saturday!

Their version is deep-fried, but I par-cook the bacon in the oven whole I prep the hot dogs. They're sliced down the middle, stuffed with jalapeños and queso, then wrapped in bacon and cooked until the bacon is crispy. I spread some extra queso on the bun, then top with a Sriracha and lime aoli and some freezer shoestring fries.

Friends and followers, exciting news!

After years of sharing pics of our meals, I am proud to share that I am launching a website/blog to share my recipes, favorite cooking supplies, and special techniques and tips! I have benefited from many similar sites throughout my cooking "career," and am so pleased to start contributing to an incredible worldwide food community. I love to create special food experiences as well as perfect weeknight recipes.

Before I commit to a format and publicity, I need your help! With this limited launch, I am looking for feedback on both the recipes and the site itself.

For Valentine's Day this year, we did a Battle of the Bisques! We each chose a recipe, and tag teamed the prep while we cooked all day. I also went a little extra for a different take on surf and turf with steak and white cheddar paninis to dip in the soups.

Stephen was the winner this year, his version tasted EXACTLY like our favorite restaurant bisque at Put-in-Bay.

Doesn't everyone make impulsive midnight lemon cakes?? I've been craving something sweet, but I also wanted to make something that wasn't super sugary or chocolatey so I could share with the little man.

This glazed lemon pound cake reminds me of one my mom used to get from our local bakery. We would eat a slice and talk about my day at school. I made mini versions so there's enough to share, maybe even with my mom.

One of my favorite comfort meals in cold weather is chicken pot pie! Made even easier for next day meals by baking it in individual tins, this prep is A LOT so I rarely do it. But hearing my 2 year old yell, "yaaaayyyy Sky Pies!" definitely made it all worthwhile 😍🥧🌌
