We started pruning the mangoes this morning. Yay.....We always see interesting wildlife and our little one had some fun....

We started pruning the mangoes this morning. Yay.....
We always see interesting wildlife and our little one had some fun.
We don't know what the egg is and the frog didn't seem to be too put out with its coating of sawdust.
After we have pruned all the branches will be mulched and left in the orchard. The thick branches are left under the trees to break down and add to the mycorrhizae.

When it is hot and stormy we have delicious sweet juicy fruit 😊

It is lychee and mango time again. Just starting for the season. Both beautiful and juicy. 💗
Starting to get new limes too after all the storm damage a few months ago

We are hoping for some more rain to cool things down and help the new plants that don't yet have roots deep in our beautiful red soil

Shadehouse time
Very excited to be making progress on the first of our two shade-houses. It is wonderful to have these, they were set to be demolished so we are very happy to used them to keep herbivores big and small out of the veggies.
I'm sewing this morning and our little old dog is helping by sitting on the shade cloth....

On the farm this week
The avocados are finished
The limes are looking great with some lovely new ones coming on. Still have some big yellow ones which are great for juicing and cooking.
We started working on our shade house. Lots to do but exciting to start.
Lots of flowering. Avocados, mangoes, jaboticabas and even the lychees are thinking about it
