🥦🥔🥕 Update on Veg 🥦🥔🥕

We will now no longer be taking orders for veg boxes. The season for most local, seasonal veg is now coming to an end and to fill the boxes now we would have to be taking in veg from wholesalers which defeats the purpose of the boxes and would be more expensive! The boxes will start again as soon as local veg becomes available in July.

It often surprises me in the shop how many people don't realise how little veg is grown in this part of the country and how seasonal it is. Simon and Sarah at Achnagairn Eat Your Greens do a fantastic job growing most of the veg we've had in the shop and the boxes since last July. However there are very few others in this area who grow such a range of veg. The climate we farm in here also makes the job very difficult, and is why for the next few months, potatoes and carrots are really the only local veg available.

We will of course still stock the veg rack in the mean time with the best British and seasonal veg we can get, and we are already seeing the first tender stem broccoli and pak choi coming from the south of England.

So the inevitable has happened, and we have had a positive covid case in our house. So this Saturday, my sister is going to run the shop. It will be open as usual at 9 but will close at 4. What she doesn't know yet is she's getting paid in potatoes and turnips 😬.

This weekend we will be fully stocked again with our own lamb! Fresh, local, sustainable meat, direct from our farm to you. Fed nothing but grass and turnips, these lambs were born and reared right here. This is the lowest food miles you will find.

Still some of our frozen beef mince left at 20% off before we get the next lot of beef in NEXT weekend (22nd). And still some steak pies in the freezer, made by Grazey Days, using our own diced beef.

Remember if you have ordered a turkey, veg or have beef to pick up, it will all be available AFTER 1pm on Thursday 23rd.

There is still fresh mince and diced beef if anyone wants to come up for that, but there will NOT be any veg available off the shelf. Once all the orders are sorted there may be a limited amount available but that will be announced later on Thursday. No more orders for veg can be taken now.

What. A. Day. Massive thanks to everyone who keeps supporting our shop and to all the new customers who keep appearing!

We are open again tomorrow from 10 until 3. We've restocked some of the veg, there's plenty of potatoes, sprouts, carrots, parsnips, onions, cabbages, turnips and leeks. More pork sausages and chipolatas are on the way.

Still plenty of beef mince and diced beef, roasts are very limited now though, there's one rump roast, one topside and some briskets, message us if you want to book any of these.

Plenty of home baking on the go for tomorrow, and a few things left on the Christmas table - cranberry jelly, bread sauce, stuffing mix and gravy!

Orders for this weeks veg boxes please. Reminder that a small box is £7, containing 2kg of potatoes, 1kg of carrots and other seasonal, local veg. The large box contains 5kg potatoes, 2kg carrots and a further selection of veg.

Christmas chocolate bombs - FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!

Long(ish) post but please read!

This year we are making a limited supply of Christmas bombs. Once they are gone, they are gone!

The bombs are made with luxury Belgian chocolate, Cadbury’s hot chocolate powder and filled with Christmas tree marshmallows!

Choices are:-
Rudolph
Snowman
Grinch
Gingerbread man
Santa
Buddy the Elf
Christmas tree

Orders are being taken ONLY between 29th November - 8th December or when sold out, whichever is sooner.

Collection will be on 21st-23rd December.

Orders should be PM’d stating your choices.

Chocolate bombs are priced at £4 each or £6.50 if you wish them gift boxed (see last photo) with a ribbon, bell and personalised name sticker.

We have some fresh beef that I'd like to get out to people still fresh, so on Monday and Tuesday evening this week we will be doing some deliveries to the Inverness area.

Beef pack - £40

3x 500g mince
2x packs of 8 sausages
1x pack of 4 burgers
1x roast (topside or silverside)

Please feel free to put together any order, as well as roasts, mince, sausages and burgers there is a few packs of 2 sirloin steaks, packs of 2 rump steaks and a 2.1kg rib roast, and 21.kg rump roast.

This is beef born on our farm next to Inverness hung for 3 weeks. PM any orders and we can arrange delivery.

I am DELIGHTED to say that I am teaming up with Druid Temple Farm to be supplying them with a selection of Grazey Days Pies to sell at their farm shop using their own beef from the farm.

Honestly blown away to be asked to do this…but it just means I must be doing something right? The Pies The Limit and all that….💃😂

Heading up to the Farm this weekend will be Skirlie, Mince & Tattie, Chilli Beef, and Lasagne.

Looks like abother fantastic day! Our fridge this week in stocked with local venison from Tarradale Game. Burgers, sausages, roasts and more. Freezer has plenty beef and pork.

Frozen beef pack this week includes -

1 pack of 2 rump steaks

1 pack of 4 burgers
1 pack of sausage

All for £40. While stocks last. Ask in shop for one.

Very excited about this!

I'd call it Bee Juice but we might get done for plagiarism 👀 so we'll just stick to Druid Temple Farm Honey.

First ever honey harvest from our own bees here at Druid Temple, available in the shop tomorrow! 1lb and 1/2lb jars. These bees have made this honey from foraging nectar on our farm and into gardens and trees on the south side of Inverness.

Our holiday is over, and the rain has returned. Much needed around the farm for the grass but unfortunately too late for a lot of our barley crop which has struggled this year in dry, sandy soil.

We were on the east coast of England last week staying in a caravan, and we visited a few farm shops. Favourite however was the one closest to the caravan park, selling their own ice cream (see picture)!

Shop is open again on Saturday, will update soon on a few new and returning items for this weekend. 🥦🍓🍅🥔🥕

There's a few beef packs available, before they go into the freezer they can be delivered tonight. 2x 500g beef mince, 500g stew, a pack of beef sausages, pack of 4 burgers and a roasting joint for £40. There is a few packs of sirloin, rump and fillet steaks available as well if anyone would like these delivered.

Before we freeze the left over beef and lamb from this weekend, we've got a pack together at a great price, for delivery this week to local area only, or collected from the farm by arrangement.
