Day 1 🌾 of our first Sorghum Festival is in the books!
We got some rain 🌧️ but we also got so much community 🥳 and learning 📋 and good eats and produce and music 🎶 and celebration! We not only harvested, but also processed some sorghum and got to share porridge and syrup with our community.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather, participated with us!

T-2 days!

It looks like we are going from beautiful, sunny 🌞 74 degree🍁🍂 fall weather, to a forecast of rain 🌧️. But we're working hard to keep everyone warm and dry as possible.

The barn is all ready for music 🎶 and activities! The greenhouse 🪴is set up for processing and food vendors. We will have some propane heaters, dry covered areas to enjoy the festivities. Rain or shine, see you at the sorghum 🌾 festival!

Join us this evening from 5-8pm at for the closing out of the Freedom Dreams arts walk exhibit! This body of work is created by a mutual aid group of Incarcerated Artists across WA state prisons .art.collective Together they train new artists, organizing art showcases, and sell their creations to economically uplift their families and communities.

The evening will be full of music by and .biz and farm to table snacks from our the collective’s farmers! You can find as spot number 32 on the Olympia Arts Walk map.

We are so excited to be collaborating as farmers, cooks, musicians, and artists 👩🏾‍🌾 🎤 🎨

Formed in Olympia circa 2015, Montgomery Brown and the Cowboy Apocalypse is a h***y stomp band that explores the social constructs behind AM radio prophecies. Through haphazardly manifesting a broad range of stereotypes defining the country genre (such as drinking whiskey, yodeling, and playing in the key of G), they’ve forged a sound that transcends the very thing that they are desperately trying to become. Put another way, the end to their means is where they begin, and as far as they see it, that is what makes music worth it.

Our Mission

Haki means Justice in swahili - a widely spoken language in Africa. Haki Farmers collective seeks to bolster and reincorporate traditional and inherently sustainable farming knowledge that is present in our migrant and indigenous communities. By holding close decolonization frameworks, Haki seeks to encourage people of color (POC), including indigenous peoples and the black descendants of American slavery, to reclaim life-giving knowledge of sustainable farming and plant medicine creation.

At Haki we believe the need to find our roots, examine and use our nearly erased traditional practices, and disseminate this knowledge is an urgent mission to care for our bodies, souls, and especially our planet.
