Happy Spring to you all!

Whether you’re celebrating the Spring Equinox, the astrological New Year, Ostara or something else entirely… I hope today brings you a sense of light, hope and the feeling of possibility.

No matter what today means to you, things are shifting… and I think we’re all probably ready for that. 🌱💫

Here’s to a new cycle and a new season.

The Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo (also known as the Worm Moon and Blood Moon) is looking real large already!

I don’t work with full moons that are eclipses (I trust they’ll take care of business for me, without my meddling) but I’ll always stop to look and pay respects to Luna.

It will be exact at 6:37am EST and we’re in a good spot to see the total eclipse (here in West MI)…. are you going to head out to see it?

Snow on the ground, with rain in the sky and fog in-between.

Ice cracking allowing the natural movement of the waters to come to the surface instead of being hidden below.

I’m not sure there’s a more perfect natural example as we welcome Pisces season today.

The in-between… of winter and spring, of earth and sky, of endings and beginnings.

It’s been a hard and heavy week…

And when it happens in winter, especially, the challenging feelings can feel even more amplified because of the cold and dark.

So here are some simple things that maybe you’ll find helpful for your own care right now.

(This is by no means an exhaustive list… just some things that came to mind):

Evergreens: symbols of resilience & strength

Lights/Candles: symbols of warmth, light and yes… fire

Showers/baths: water is connected to our emotions and feeling nurtured… let yourself be.

Writing/drawing: helpful forms of expression, no artistic skills needed.

Fresh air: get the energy moving and feel it fill up your lungs

Find something to admire about winter: even the smallest thing can help make the season more manageable

Screaming into a pillow: well… that one just feeeeeels cathartic.

Take care of yourself, friends.

Capricorn is the wise elder energy of the zodiac, here to remind us that our legacies aren’t built overnight, that slow and steady progress is still progress, and that the path can be steep and rocky but with patience we can get there.

Some reminders for myself - and perhaps for you, too, - especially as we navigate the time of big resolutions, goals, intentions and so on.

The Full Wolf Moon takes place on January 3 at 5:02am EST and rises under the watchful eye of Cancer.

This moon is calling us to slooow down, to tend to what matters, and to honor the instincts that guide us.

In the stillness of winter, the wolf moves with quiet strength... protective, loyal, and deeply attuned to its pack.

And like the wolf, Cancer teaches us that true power comes through care, connection, and guarding what we hold dear.

This moon invites us to reflect on who or what deserves our fierce care right now... and where we feel called to protect and nurture (in our homes, our hearts, or our lives)?

So let this moon illuminate your instincts, strengthen your foundations, and remind you that survival, growth, and power are made possible through connection.

Our lives aren’t meant to come to a complete standstill during winter, even though this is the “season of slowing down”...

and let’s face it, it can be really hard to give ourselves the permission to slow down when there is so much that demands our care and attention.

But during winter, we ARE being given the opportunity to explore what rest MEANS for us as individuals…

and more importantly, what rest FEELS like for us as individuals.

So yes, let this be a season of slowing down and of resting…

just remember that YOU get to decide what that rest looks like in your life.

Capricorn season is here… (technically I’m a little late 🙃)…

this is a season and time of steadiness, reflection, and long-term wisdom.

From December 21 to January 19 this year (EST), this season invites us to slow down, take stock, and move forward with intention.

To honor what’s been built… and to consider what we’re building toward.

And yes… this year might feel a little different.

The energy may land heavier… quieter… more internal than the usual “goal-oriented Capricorn drive.” And that’s ok… because there’s value in that, too. (And to be fair… the energy for true forward motion comes in spring, but that’s for another post).

I fact, Capricorn reminds us that progress doesn’t always look like forward motion. Sometimes it looks like rest. Sometimes it looks like patience. Sometimes it looks like choosing what’s sustainable over what’s impressive.

WE get to decide how we meet this season… what success means right now… what foundations need tending… and which paths are truly worth the climb.

If you want to explore the energy of Capricorn more deeply, the full blog post (with story, symbolism, and seasonal context) is live on my site (link in bio).

Here’s to the steady and patient resilience within us all. ✨

one last summer bouquet…

my flower season is done for 2025, and so now begins the transition to put beds to rest… and the official transition to fall.

but before i do, i’m taking a few extra minutes today to be grateful for all that this summer season brought.

let’s not forget to appreciate what’s been before we rush to what’s coming next.

Beginning the slow transition from this season to next.

Walking through the garden making plans of what to grow again and what to let go of.

Harvesting as many herbs as I can to make teas and tinctures and treasures during the cold months.

Hanging flowers in the garage to dry and use for crafts or added color in my house.

And picking off old blooms to collect seeds for next year’s garden. The seeds I save are all open pollinated, so they won’t necessarily look like the bloom they came from, but that means there are one-of-a-kind blooms each year and that feels pretty special to me.

This is the first round… and there will be many more.

I feel like the weather this week has been the perfect representation of where we’re at in the season.

For those of you craving PSLs and witchy-wear… I totally get it.

With school back in session, store shelves stocked with your favorite seasonal decor, and feeds flooded with the deep earthy colors of autumn aesthetics it’s understandable to feel that way. This witchy woman is anxiously awaiting her favorite season too…

But here’s the thing: we’re still technically in summer for another month.

And yet, this final chapter of the season does feel different, because we’ve entered Virgo season, a mutable sign, that carries us from one season to the next.

The start of Virgo (today) looks quite different than its end on September 22.

Right now, summer is still lush, golden, and full of warmth… even as days shorten.

On a walk, I noticed the goldenrod just beginning to bloom, almost like the sun whispering, “Wait, I’m still here - don’t wish me away before my final moment.”

These transitional seasons are easy to overlook as we tend to be a culture always looking to what’s next… but they’re filled with value and wisdom if we pause long enough to notice.

They remind us to honor where we are, even as we anticipate what’s ahead.

Virgo season has plenty of lessons to teach us - about organizing and tending, about service and self-sovereignty, about aligning with what truly matters.

If you’d like to explore these themes more deeply (plus some ways to work with the energy), I’ve written a full synopsis over on Substack. Link’s in my bio! ✨
