Here is some great information about the White Gourami that you can use for your own knowledge or even adapt into posts for your AquaSnaps page!

When people talk about the "White Gourami," they are usually referring to either the Moonlight Gourami (Trichopodus microlepis), which has a beautiful silvery-white glow, or a Platinum/White color morph of other popular gouramis (like the Three Spot or Dwarf Gourami).
Here is a general guide to these stunning, ethereal fish:

🐟 Appearance
• Coloration: They feature a beautiful, iridescent silvery-white body. Under aquarium lighting, they can sometimes have a soft greenish or bluish moonlight glow (especially the Moonlight Gourami).

• Fins: Like all gouramis, they have long, thread-like pelvic fins (the ones hanging down from their belly) that they use to "feel" their surroundings and navigate their environment.

💧 Tank Setup & Care
• Tank Size: A minimum of 30 to 40 gallons is recommended, as they can grow up to 5-6 inches long depending on the exact species.
• Water Conditions: They are tropical freshwater fish.

• Temperature: 76°F - 82°F (24°C - 28°C)
• pH: 6.0 - 7.5
• Aquascaping: They love heavily planted tanks! Floating plants are especially appreciated because they help dim the lighting, making the fish feel secure and bringing out their best colors.

🌿 Diet
White Gouramis are omnivores and are generally not picky eaters. To keep them healthy and their colors bright, feed them a varied diet:
• High-quality tropical flakes or pellets.
• Live or frozen foods (like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia) as a treat.
• They also like nibbling on algae and vegetable matter in the tank.

🐠 Behavior & Tank Mates
• The Labyrinth Organ: Gouramis have a special "labyrinth organ" that allows them to breathe atmospheric air from the surface of the water. You will often see them swimming to the top to take a gulp of air!

• Temperament: They are generally peaceful community fish, but males can get territorial and aggressive with other male gouramis.
• Ideal Tank Mates: Keep them with other peaceful, similarly sized fish. Tetras, Corydoras catfish, peaceful barbs, and loaches make excellent tank mates. Avoid notorious fin-nippers (like Tiger Barbs), as they might attack the gourami's long, trailing fins.
