This is a bit of a long post, yall. Please read on for an update on this page.

First and foremost, Crooked Barn Farm is still our sweet little homestead name.

Previously, I tried to fit into a box and place a label on my talents.
After some self reflection, I have realized that I have several talents, which are most rooted in creativity and crafting. Along with an ever growing interest to learn lots of new things. To eliminate confusion, I have created a new name for my FB page to share all the things I create. From our homestead goods such as eggs, jams, jelly, made to order sourdough and fresh chicken; to herbal tonics, tintures, and salves I forage, and even some wild crafted art and commission paintings.
My passion has always been in art, I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. As I've grown and built our homestead, I started to develop an interest in herbal remedies and cooking as well.

In addition, you don't have to know me well to know my obsession with bassets. Ever since I was a kid begging my mom for a dog, to the Easter, she gave in and brought home a basset hound. I have had one walking alongside me ever since. So it's only right that my logo represents that part of me. So, as an adorable basset always has their nose to the ground, I'll be out here foraging, cooking, and crafting!

It's tallow rendering day!
It's a kinda long, messy process but we have been blowing through our whipped tallow.

I have found that skin loves tallow. We have used whipped tallow for dry scalp, hair to help with frizz and give shine, dry hands & feet, and a daily facial moisturizer.

Stay tuned to see what I will be making with this batch for the Christmas market 😉
