FAKE EMPATHY TOWARDS ANIMAL SUFFERING FOR CONTENT
A disturbing video allegedly posted by content creator Rommel C. Martinez from Tuguegarao is circulating, showing a poor puppy with a snake wrapped around its entire body.
What makes the video even more heartbreaking is hearing the puppy crying in pain. Yet instead of putting the camera down and helping, the person behind the camera continued filming and even added āOceansā by Hillsong as background music.
If you truly care about an animal in distress, your first instinct should be to help, not to record.
What is also concerning is that the snake appears to be a pet, based on its presence in some of their previous content. If that is indeed the case, it raises even more questions about why the puppy was left in distress while the situation was being filmed.
There is nothing compassionate about turning an animalās suffering into entertainment. When a helpless puppy is crying for help, every second matters. The priority should be getting the animal away from danger and seeking immediate assistance, not capturing footage for views and engagement.
This is why we must be careful about the kind of content we consume, support, and normalize. Animal suffering should never become a content strategy.
If this creator wants attention, then let that attention be directed toward the question that matters most:
Where is the puppy, and is the puppy safe?
