Fall has arrived again. The garden was a bit larger again this year and I have managed to put up over a dozen jars of marinara and also tomato sauce. The marinara is "perfecto" but I think I put a bit too much wine in the sauce. Its still good, especially when I add meat.

Ive had several ducks born this year and need to harvest them soon before they eat me out of house and home!! Its insane how much they eat! Ive been training them to eat closer to the area I need to corral them into, to catch the ones going to freezer camp. Its not easy. Its like they know somethings up. I have 7 white ducks (2 males) and will keep them for next years chicks. One of the males is a bit of a jerk, but I question if he realizes hes being a pain and his days will be numbered if he gets aggressive. (He did once and I won that particular argument but ended up with a pretty good bruise on my forearm).

The LGD Belle (the smiling dog) has returned. The home she went to kept two puppies she gave birth to and decided not to keep her so returned her. She still smiles ALL the time. Its unfortunate that some people think shes snarling at them but its not frequently that we see smiling dogs so I dont judge. She occasionally digs her way out of the field shes in with the chickens and turkey (it drives me crazy!!) so I hope she doesnt go far and have someone misunderstand her smile for aggression. I have spent so much time fixing fence!! Im about to throw a bunch of dog p**p in the area she digs out of. Concrete blocks and cattle panel only makes her find another weak spot. Its super frustrating!!

So thats a quick update for now. I will add more pics! Something weird happened and the pics didnt upload. They're on their way! (yes, the one pic of the truck is the sale listing pic)

It's been about a year since Ive last made a post. All the goats are gone now. I still have chickens and ducks, and of course, Badger. He still takes really good care of the flock, even tho there aren't even a fraction as many predators as there was on the 40 acres. He is the last LGD here, and will be with me until his days have ended. He has seizures that require medication and super high anxiety during hunting season and the 4th of July. I also still have the pet dogs, most of whom are getting up there in age now, and several cats. Half are mine, and half are "just visiting" for one reason or another.

I have worked tirelessly to make the garden better, with a little bit of help on occasion, and some of what I grew was used for Thanksgiving dinner, which was awesome! I will add some recent pics and will update more frequently as time allows.
