This morning, we had a quick swarm removal call in Kaplan by Mrs. Timmie Melancon's referral. She and her husband Lonnie are some of our favorite beekeepers who produce the award-winning Wright honey! Give them some love at wrighthoney.com!

The queen bee pheromone is one of the strongest scents bees are attracted to. After some digging, we located the queen and captured her. The bees immediately flew to Eddie's hand, all of them trying to get back to mama who was safely in a cage in Eddie's hand. They were very docile as you can see, and all the bees were safely extracted from this point. Now living happily in Youngsville, these bees have a peaceful existence away from humans. We are so thankful for our customers who refer us to rescue other bee colonies around Acadiana. We assisted Ben with a removal a few years ago, and he referred us to his friend Charles who was dealing with a very similar issue.

This week, we had the great pleasure of rescuing a swarm from one of our amazing followers, Millie Resweber Zimmer! These bees were very calm as we collected them. After digging through some of the casualties from falling a great height, Marleen found the queen! These bees have a great shot at recovery thanks to Millie and Pam's quick action to call on Acadiana Beekeepers Association and a fast response from our Beyla's crew. Thanks Millie!
