Showing off my Partridge Brahma boy… He was called “Lil Man” just a couple months ago, but he is not so little anymore. Now he’s called “Big Guy.” Lol

It’s been almost 2 years of growing out potential show birds and build our homestead from scratch. All while traveling to fight underpaid Hurricane insurance claims. I have done some soul searching and have decided to take an extended break from breeding silkies. I’ll revisit them when I get the homestead running and we’re all settled in. Show birds need a more permanent structure and limited out door time in order to keep feathers from getting damaged or shredded, from staining, and from “sun bleaching.” We’re not situated for that yet - so… My self-blue and blue-cream stock will go to Shannon Miller west of me, closer to Dallas, TX. The rest of my stock will likely go to Patricia Dunlap-Bento and Wendy Watkiss.

The homestead will have Brahma’s from Billy’s Brahmas out of Missouri. We’re still researching what breed of cattle, sheep, and grazing pig we will end up with but stay tuned 💕

When there are times in life that make you feel as though you can’t see the future in front of you… think about the Silkie Chicken. One would think Silkies can’t possibly see anything in front of them, with their eyes are under alllll this FLOOF, yet…it lives. Thrives, even. It still finds food, water, yummy bugs, and can spot a human to snuggle with. Moral story of the Silkie Chicken: you will find a way to thrive.
