Last week was coop‑moving week on the farm, and it took us a couple days to get everything done 🚜🐔
We moved the smaller coop up near the house so we can keep a closer eye on our layers, and then we got creative for the meat birds — repurposing an old water container that used to be a camp shower and turning it into a coop.

Yes, there are photos of me on the tractor holding the whole thing up with one hand and my coffee in the other…Farm multitasking at its finest.🚜☕️

Meanwhile the horses stood there watching us like, “what in the world are you two doing now?” They’re always supervising the antics on the farm.🐴🐴

They may not be the fanciest coops, but around here we’re about sustainability. We use what we have, we repurpose what’s lying around, and we make it work. The setups might not be pretty, but the animals are safe, happy, and protected from predators — and that matters more than anything else. 💚🐥🐓

Last week was a long one in the garden 🌿
Getting the field ready for the season is no joke — tilling, pulling weeds, tilling again, spreading manure, and then tilling again until the soil is finally fluffy and perfect for the girls to go in….. and then it’s hole-digging time!🪏

It’s time‑consuming, dirty, back‑aching work… and we’re still not fully done.
But we did get the field ready, got a few rows planted, and even managed to jump over to the veggie garden to prep more rows there too.

The work never ends out here — but oh my, it’s worth it. 🤎

The time‑lapse version of Mouse & Sandy’s “spa day.” They handled the bath like champs… and then immediately rolled the second their hooves hit the pasture 😂🐴💨

Everyone, meet the newest members of the farm chaos crew: Mouse & Sandy 🐴💚

After a week of settling into their new home, we decided it was finally time for their long‑overdue bath. The fat babies actually surprised us — Sandy stepped up like a total pro, and Mouse only filed one complaint about the hose before deciding it wasn’t that serious 😂💦🫧

Everything was going smooth… until a noise reminded us that horses don’t care about your plans. New environment = new sounds = new reasons to practice our quick‑on‑your‑feet reflexes 😅⚡️🥷

That’s the thing about horses: they feed off our energy. If we freak, they freak bigger. Stay calm, stay steady, and they settle right down 🩵❤️🐎

In the end, everyone ended up clean, shiny, and a little more confident. More baths are definitely in their future, and every day this place becomes a little less scary for them 🫶✨🐴 🐴

This little girl is having another big day on the farm! Watering plants and prepping soil💦🐶… with a tiny supervisor who insists she’s helping. Busy or not, we always make time for puppy moments🐶🐾

A little visitor on the farm today… and she immediately stole a clump of weeds like it was treasure! We always make time for puppy playtime around here🐾🐶🩵

After Blue’s big day and getting the cows moved, we rolled straight into the next project: mucking out the old cow building and transforming it into a comfy lean‑to for some new babies joining the farm soon… well, technically they’re already here, but we’re a little behind on posting 🤫

Back‑breaking, stinky, all‑day work — the kind where you’re sweating, gagging, laughing, and questioning your life choices… then remembering you actually love this life 😂💩🚜

We’re not totally finished, and it’s definitely not the fanciest setup yet, but the animals are happy, so we’re happy ❤️

Farm life really be like that. With so much happening at once, perfection isn’t always the goal — sometimes it’s about getting it good enough for now, keeping everyone safe and comfortable, and moving on to the next thing ✨🚜💨

We’ll circle back and pretty it up later. For now, the babies are settled in and loving their new space… stay tuned 👀🐴

As soon as we got back to the farm after dropping off the last cow, we pulled straight into chaos…

🐕Blue — our best farm dog and self‑appointed flock manager — was in full protector mode guarding the new chickies🐥. In the scramble, two chicks got grabbed, others scattered, and Blue ended up with an injured eye and paw.

We got everything under control, found the chicks that ran, and rushed Blue to the vet to get stitched up. He handled the whole thing like a champ.

Through all of it, Blue proved (again) that he truly runs the show around here. Our brave boy is healing up, keeping an eye on his flock, and taking his job very seriously 🐾💛🐕🐥

They made us work for it but they are happy in their new summer pasture 🩵🌿🐮

This almost worked for us multiple times. Moving cows teaches you patience, strategy and a whole lot of cardio- especially when you’re working around 3 bulls.
You follow their lead, stay alert, and try to not take it personally when they outsmart you😅
