My name is Kristen Pyszka and I am a self-taught baker. My mom helped instill my passion for baking at a young age. I loved helping my mom in the kitchen, but the thing I always looked forward to most was making desserts! I quickly learned that homemade baked goods are associated with celebrations and happiness. I love bringing joy to other people’s lives and getting to see the smiles on their fac
es. Everyone loves delicious homemade sweets but certainly not everyone has the time to make them. I am passionate about creating custom made sweets everyone can enjoy without having to spend countless hours in the kitchen. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease and multiple food allergies as an adult, and suddenly one day all of the baked goods I once loved were off limits. It was difficult for me to find sweets that I enjoyed and could safely eat, and I often had to sit by and watch my family and friends enjoy treats because there were not any options for me. This ignited a passion in me to create delicious gluten free and allergen friendly versions of my baked goods. I spent countless hours experimenting and perfecting recipes so that many other people can enjoy them too. My mission is to combine my passion for baking and helping others and to create delectable custom made sweets the whole family can enjoy regardless of dietary restrictions. Life is a celebration and should be enjoyed by everyone!
*The Sweetery is an online bakery and baked goods are prepared in a licensed kitchen in Indianapolis. The kitchen is not a dedicated gluten free facility, but I do use separate equipment for gluten free baking and take the proper precautions necessary to ensure safety. As someone with Celiac Disease and food allergies and a certified Physician Assistant, I understand the importance of health and safety.
