Four Crows Ranch

Four Crows is a boreal ranch and certified organic farm in Bay Bulls, Newfoundland. We are also home to over 100 certified organic Honeybee colonies!

Smiling Land Farm is Newfoundland and Labrador's first large-scale certified organic farm (Ecocert). Our 400+ acre property in Bay Bulls will be producing certified organic honey, duck eggs, berries, apples and more. Smiling Land Farm is currently home to a donkey, pygmy goats, horses, and ducks.

Happy Paddy’s Day eve everyone! ☘️

Our cows are settled in nicely in their new barn this evening.

With the help of Rocky and our crew we successfully moved 21 of our fold today.

Rocky is a two year old Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog). This was his first big job with the Highlands that call Four Crows home.

Our beautiful girl, Storm. Enjoying the chilly temperatures today!

Storm is a beautiful brindle Highland heifer. Her sire is Austin, and her dam is our beloved Kat.

Fun fact. Storm was born during a fierce January storm in 2024. She’s been thriving since her birth on our ranch.

It’s bottling week at Four Crows!

High on our boreal hillside — between the pines, the the cows and horses, and the row of young apple trees — our honeybees have been working all summer in one of the few parasite-free havens left in the world.

And now, after months of tending, our very first batch of Four Crows Organic Newfoundland Honey is being bottled.

Small-batch. Unfiltered. Purely Newfoundland.

This inaugural release will be available exclusively at Winnie & Kay, our sister shop just down the road in Bay Bulls.

Dory wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. She’s got quite the fan base here amongst staff and students!

Dory is a nine year American Quarter horse who came from Nova Scotia five years ago. Fun fact, her half brother, “Ten Thirty” won one of the largest horse shows in the United States in 2021.

Good morning everyone!
We have some exciting news to share. We have an English instructor joining our team!

Beth Elliot has been riding English for 20 years.
She competes in English Performance, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumpers.
Beth competed on and was the Vice President of the University of Waterloo Equestrian Team in Ontario, catch riding a multitude of horses in Hunter Equitation Over Fences. She has her Equestrian Canada English Rider Level 6 certification.

Beth brings lots of love and enthusiasm to everything she does. For the past several months she has been working closely with Pablo, developing a level of fitness and trust that has proven successful when competing this summer!

For right now her availability is Thursday evenings but may add additional space this fall! Please message our page for information or to book your lesson!
