Halloween is a particularly favorite time of the year for me. It brings back memories of my parents creating costumes for me. Even though my Pop’s isn’t with me, I still have very fond memories of him. It was my dad’s brilliant idea to dress me up as the invisible man when I was a kid. The pictures were nearly burnt up in a fire from my dad’s storage so I’m happy these survived the fire. This costume won a lot of costume contests! I had won a microwave and cash and other stuff! I think I was 8 or 9 at the time so this may have been in 1988 or 89. If one of my friends has a better idea what grade this was, I would appreciate that. We re-created the costume again in 1999 or 2000. Again we won a lot of costume contests! More importantly, it created a lot of good memories with my parents. I recently saw another kid dressed as the invisible man and thought to myself, this kid’s parent(s) is making some great memories for him. It’s easy to buy costumes these days but once in a while try and create a costume for your kid or kids.
