How to explain my excitement about these apple blossoms 🤔 well here is the story: while working on a TV show in 2021 I got in a habit of eating an apple on my way home. And when I would get home, I would throw out the core in a wooded area next to our driveway. A couple of years go by and I noticed these trees, they look different from our regular maple, poplar and service berries. Then I clued in, these were my apple cores! I accidentally planted a small orchard lol and now one of these trees is blooming! Just a few blooms, but we may get apples from this mystery apple tree!!!

It is great to have chickens out and about most of the day, Ruby is doing Ruby things - she is almost never with the flock, she wonders around and supervises yard work, construction or whatever else needed to be done haha
Interesting to see a wasp pollinating red currant 🤔

Just a tiny update on things. Greenhouse been slow this year, but we finally have radishes, spinach and Bok choy. Would’ve have peas out of the ground by now but someone planted seeds from 1996 … so … ok, I don’t know if they are actually that old but when a large bag of Halifax Seeds cost $2.25 you know it wasn’t yesterday 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Asparagus is making its great appearance! I think it is a year four so it will be a great harvest.
Hyacinth is in full bloom, even the little baby one. Never realized that all these bulbs multiply on their own - tulips, hyacinth, daffodils.

Ah spring! So much to do so little time with just weekend to do it.
Flower seeds are coming up, decided to give them a head start this year so we can have pollinators right away.
Little lonely hyacinth that comes up every year, love it so much would probably get some friends for it 🤔
Garlic is going wild! Keep thinking that we should cover it this year, stupid leek moth 😤

Strawberry bed that I am working to redo. Weeds are taking over, so raised bed on top of original bed. Found 30 strawberry plants in that little patch. I think friends and family will be getting strawberry plants for a while this spring haha
Rhubarb is up and rhubarbing, reason why I can’t redo the whole bed at once.
So much more to come! Can’t wait! But with work started early this year, I am behind on everything 😬😬😬😳🤪
