We Rate Catholic Fish We love Catholic Fish. So we rate Catholic fish in the STL area.

Ok so we were incorrect about going live.
We’ve been painting and redecorating all day, and we havent gotten presentable enough yet for a live.

What we DID do was take our paint splattered booties to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church for some Catholic fish to rate!

Overall we gave them an 8.5 cumulative score between 6 of us.

Two of us went, and the ambiance was AMAZING.
There was a full real bar, a Fleetwood Mac concert playing on one tv (which gained a mega buttload of points from this reviewer because Stevie Nicks is life) and and a sportsball event of some sort on another, all the tables had cute lil flower arrangements on them.

It was awesome.

Moving on to the flow - it was PACKED but well organized. We got carry out since we still had so much to do at home - and a LOT of carry out - 7 orders. We filled out each order on its own form, got in one line, paid, then got in another line and then gave a very nice gentelman our papers which he doled out to the people working one by one. It took no time to get all seven orders, all separately bagged.

Ok now the important part - HOW WAS THE FOOD?
Everyone who got it raved about the cod and the catfish. The peel and eat shrimp wasnt anything new or revolutionary for shrimp, but the cocktail sauce was good, and the shrimps themselves were good sized.

Points got taken off for not having mac and cheese as a side, but great things were said about the coleslaw, the Serbian Rice and the Vegetables.

The shrimp po boy was an immaculate presentation of beauty and God’s love. That’s honestly the only way I can explain it.

I appreciate you can eat healthy at a fish fry, by the way.

The deserts were great but one voter took off points because they didnt like the apple crisp.

Overall the votes averaged out to 8.5, with the two voters who went giving them a 9.3 and 9.5

We have a major contender here, folks. A MAJOR. Contender.

Check out Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church fish fest, you will absolutely have a great time!

No video tonight, but we do have a review for St. Elizabeth’s in Granite City, Il.

Tonights ratings are based solely on selection and taste since we had to get it to go.

Both Jeremy, Mike and myself rated this fish a SOLID 9/10.

The food had flavor. we tried the fried wall eye and the cod and both were flavorful and not greasy.
The cole slaw tasted like your standard BBQ homemade slaw, and frankly, I love that.
The mac and cheese was like boxed velveeta only with extra, it was creamy and by far the best mac and cheese from any fish fry we’ve been do in the couple years we’ve been doing this.

The fries needed salt but were the good, thick sturdy fries, not dumb little baby fries or crinkle cut.

You can also get baked potatoes as a side.

The desert options also were impressive withba variety of cakes. The german chocolate cake and peeps cupcake really stood out.

Overall, GO GO NOW to St. Elizabeth in Granite City! let us know what you think!

Because of prior obligations we were NOT able to rate Catholic Fish tonight.

However we are eating at Rackhouse Whiskey and Wine so we don’t consider that a huge loss.

St Pius V fish review is up!

St Pius V fish review is up!

St Pius V review

it’s a late start on the fish game but we’re starting the season at St Pius V on Grand tonight!

The menu looks promising, but will they hold up? Stay tuna-ed!

(See what I did there? Ok I’ll go now)

While we unfortunately weren’t able to participate in fish fry deliciousness last night, we did get feedback from fish fans who went to where we were supposed to go - Holy Family in Granite City.

Apparently they went 0 for 2 last night, (I do not have details, just that 🤮)

Based on that and last year’s experience I would say be cautious with this one.

*otherwise support your local fish church! These reviews arent meant to harm but to provide guidance for church loyaless good ass fish loving heathens such as us.

Unfortunately due to stupid adulting circumstances we have to postpone the season premiere of We Rate Catholic Fish.

In the meantime, drop YOUR fave Catholic fish fry in the comments!!

Tonight we kick off lent with Holy Family takeout in Granite City IL. Have they upped their fish game since last year? STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT!
