A Sold-Out Room Proved One Thing: People Are Ready to Talk About Wine & Asian Cuisine

Last Tuesday night at Astor Center was truly special. 🍷✨

Not only was the class sold out, but the energy and enthusiasm in the room reminded me why I’ve spent years advocating for wine pairing with Asian cuisine.

What made me so happy was seeing such a diverse crowd from guests in their twenties to retirees, all genuinely curious about how wine interacts with spice, umami, aromatics, sweetness, texture, and culture.

For a long time, pairing wine with Asian cuisine felt like a niche conversation. But now, it finally feels like this topic is gaining the momentum it deserves.

Food and wine pairing isn’t just a gimmick. It’s a lifestyle you can actually live and practice every day. It also brings people together around the table and creates shared experiences that stay with us long after the meal ends.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined my class on Tuesday night. Your curiosity, excitement and support means so much, not only to me, but also to the continued evolution of wine education.

Please stay tuned for my upcoming classes at Astor Center. Tickets move quickly, so be sure to grab them early once registration opens.

If you’d like priority access and early bird promotions for future classes, DM me your email address and I’ll make sure you’re on the list. 😉

From Textbook to Vineyard: Discovering the Soul of Northeast Italy Wine Country 🇮🇹🍷

For years, Northern Italy lived in my textbooks, tasting notes, and classroom discussions. But nothing compares to standing there in person — walking through the vineyards, breathing in the mountain air, and seeing these landscapes with my own eyes.

During this unforgettable journey, we visited three remarkable wineries across Northern Italy:

✨ in Valdadige, a family-run estate preserving the rare ancient grape Enantio from pre-phylloxera vines while championing mountain viticulture between Veneto and Trentino.

✨ in Alto Adige, one of Italy’s most respected cooperatives and a benchmark producer of world-class Gewürztraminer, proving why Alto Adige has become one of Europe’s most exciting white wine regions.

✨ in Oslavia, in the Collio Goriziano area of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. A legendary estate that sparked a global revolution on orange wine made with Ribolla Gialla using amphora aging, and challenged the world with its bold, though-provoking winemaking.

I’m incredibly grateful to the producers who welcomed us, shared their stories, and dedicated their lives to preserving these regions and traditions. As wine professionals, part of our responsibility is to amplify these voices and help more people understand the work behind the bottle.

Northern Italy is one of the most exciting wine regions on earth, and far too many people overlook it. Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing deeper dives into each winery and region very soon. ❤️⛰️🍇

🎉 SOLD OUT CLASS AT ASTOR CENTER — AGAIN 🎉

I’m beyond grateful to share that my upcoming class, Perfect Pairings: Wine with Asian Cuisine at Astor Center is officially SOLD OUT! 🍷🥢✨

This class continues to sell out year after year, and I can’t thank you enough for the incredible support, enthusiasm, and curiosity you bring to these experiences.

Seeing so many people excited to learn how wine interacts with spice, umami, aromatics, sweetness, and texture reminds me why I’ve dedicated over a decade to studying and teaching wine pairing with Asian cuisine.

What makes this class special is that it goes far beyond “what wine goes with what food.” We explore why pairings work — and how understanding structure, culture, and flavor can completely transform the way we experience both wine and cuisine.

If you missed this round, don’t worry — through me a DM and join the waiting list in case a spot opens up. 😊

To everyone who secured a ticket THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤️ I can’t wait to share this immersive evening with you. We’re going to taste boldly, think differently, and hopefully change the way you approach wine pairing forever. 🍾🌏

6 Iconic Italian Wines, One Unforgettable Corporate Tasting Experience 🇮🇹🍷✨

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of leading a private wine tasting for Jade Century Property’s networking event, an afternoon dedicated to exploring the essence of Italy through six iconic regions. 🇮🇹🍇🍷

We journeyed through:
Prosecco → Soave Classico → Cerasuolo di Vittoria → Barolo → Brunello di Montalcino, and ended with Amarone.

Each wine tells a story of place of terroir, tradition, and craftsmanship. Together, they create a beautiful snapshot of Italy’s diversity.

It was especially meaningful to collaborate again with the same incredible team from my previous event at . 🥰

Your commitment to detail and pursuit of excellence truly resonates with how I approach my work. It’s rare and rewarding to partner with a team that not only upholds high standards but also genuinely values its people. ✨

To everyone who joined the tasting: thank you so much.
Your curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm are what transform a class into an experience. The engagement, the questions, the laughter—you made the room come alive.

Moments like this are why I do what I do: creating space for connection through wine, culture, and shared experience and already looking forward to the next event together.

If you’re interested in hosting a private wine tasting experience like this for your team, clients, or community,

I’d love to work with you.😊

Sip Sustainably: 4 Earth-Friendly Wines to Celebrate Earth Day 🌿🍷

Earth Day is a great reminder that what’s in the glass starts long before the bottle. It starts in the soil, in the roots, in the choices growers make every single day.

I’m celebrating Earth Day with four bottles from GonzálezByass’ portfolio, a historic, family-owned producer/import from Jerez 🇪🇸 that continues to prove one simple idea: caring for the land and making great wine are one and the same.

Each wine is paired with fresh, seasonal dishes created by Patty Gentry, Chef, farmer, and founder of that reflect that same sense of place.

🌿 Rosé Delicat Reserva 🇪🇸
This Rosé Cava Reserva is from Penedès just outside Barcelona, offering delicate bubbles with bright red berry notes and a crisp Mediterranean freshness. Pair with gazpacho. Bright, refreshing, and full of life.

🌿 Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Liebenberg 2024 🇦🇹
Grüner from Austria’s steep Wachau Valley shows ripe orchard fruit, ground white pepper, and a clean, mineral finish. Pair with flatbread, kale pesto, and shiitake. Vibrant, green, and complex.

🌿 Pinot Noir 🇨🇱
From Chile’s cool Casablanca Valley, this PN displays fresh, vibrant red fruit complemented by a fresh, coastal elegance. It pairs perfectly with broiled salmon and spring herbs.

🌿 Rioja Reserva 2020 🇪🇸
From Spain’s Rioja region, this Reserva exhibits ripe dark fruit layered with baking spice, cedar, and a touch of vanilla, supported by fine, well-integrated tannins.
Serve alongside pasta with tuna, green garlic, and spring greens. Savory, structured, and refined.

Here’s to drinking with purpose. To support wineries that farm with care. Because we’re not only wine lovers. We’re earth lovers too. 🌎🍷

Brunello 2021 Decoded: Fragrant, Refined, Slender 🍷

At Benvenuto Brunello NY, the masterclass “Brunello 2021: Decoding the Vintage,” led by Gabriele Gorelli MW, provided valuable insights into a noteworthy year.

Brunello Forma, the ’s data-driven vintage evaluation system (debuted in 2020) blends climate data, vineyard performance, and blind tastings by 8 Masters of Wine to move beyond scores into something more meaningful: character.

2021 speaks in three words: fragrant, refined, slender.

Lifted aromatics, precise structure, and elegance over power. The 2021 vintage is shaped by balance, not excess.

This is Brunello in a more transparent voice — where sites, climate, and Sangiovese align with clarity.

Save this post for your quick guide to the elegance of Brunello 2021.

I’m officially a 🍷✨
Becoming a CMS Certified Sommelier 11 years ago, and now earning my WSET Diploma, has been one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys I’ve taken.

This program didn’t just teach me wine. It changed how I think about it. It pushed me to understand wine systematically, from theory to tasting. It’s not about memorization, but about truly understanding how nature, human factors, and business shape the style, quality, and price of wine. 🍇📚

Why did I take the diploma program?
To go deeper into wine knowledge.
To meet a challenge I set for myself.
And to earn credibility that opens doors. 🚪

Even with over 10 years in the industry, I still encounter doubt and judgment, and I understand why. In the end, it comes down to the value you bring. What I can do is stay prepared, know my strengths, and give my best. 💪

I’m ready for the next chapter, and I look forward to what the universe will bring. ✨🍷

Sip & Savor: Pairing European Wines and Deli Meats 🇪🇺🍷

A few weeks ago, I was invited to explore Sip & Savor, an EU-funded project celebrating the pairing of Roero DOCG wines and traditional Italian deli meats.
Both come from Italy and share the same spirit of craftsmanship and terroir. 🇮🇹

Roero DOCG wines come from the hills of Piedmont in northern Italy. They include the fragrant white Roero Arneis and the elegant red Roero Rosso (Nebbiolo), known for its freshness, vibrant aromatics, and a natural affinity for food.

Italian deli meats (salumi) are cured meats crafted through centuries-old techniques, including prosciutto, salame, culatello, pancetta, and more. Each expresses regional identity and artisanal skill.

Together, they simply belong at the same table, sharing a conversation between land, tradition, and taste.

This project isn’t just about wine and charcuterie. It’s about slowing down, sharing a table, and discovering how beautifully Europe’s food and wine culture come together. 🤝

Have you ever tasted Roero DOCG wines with Italian deli meats before? Follow .us to find out more.
