Here comes the warmth! Get outside and prep and prepare those beds and gardens. Go ahead and plant those cool loving veggies.

Today we are planting carrots, peas, cabbage, greens and turnips 😎

Tomatoes are well with a couple varieties lagging behind. Peppers look wonderful and the eggplant will be repotted next week!

Get outside and enjoy

What a gorgeous morning, a little cool but the warmup is right around the corner!

We have been starting to crank out things here. Momma and the little one helped in the big garden taking out old plants, irrigation lines, stakes, straw etc.

We have new irrigation lines going in a few weeks so we are getting rid of our old lines (still work perfectly), plus we have a bunch of commercial fabric that has been used but is in very good condition as well has plastic fencing.

If anyone is interested or can use these materials give us a shout. We were going to sell them but if anyone wants to barter for them that would be better in our eyes.

We will be purchasing established herbs to get the farm stand raised bed planted this week plus moving the refrigerators up and getting the stand all set!

Tomorrow the beets, turnips and greens with hit the “momma section” of the raised beds. Little by little we’re getting the ball rolling!

Have a great day!

We keep on working to get things done. We finished putting in the large 12ft herb bed next to the farm stand. We will have fresh herbs to seek right at the stand!

Now to head to the big garden and tackle some tasks that I have been avoiding but need to start to get moving with the warmer weather on the way!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Happy Saturday! What a gorgeous morning. The Warmth is right around the corner!

We have finished potting up all of our tomato starts. Majority of them have done well but we still have about 20% that take a little longer to adapt to being outside in the greenhouse.

Today we start potting up all the peppers. Thank goodness we only have 1/4 of the peppers as we do tomatoes.

The new herb bed will go up to the farm stand and we will be getting that all set for the first batch of herbs Sunday or Monday.

We also are planting our lettuce, beets and turnip starts this weekend 😎

Hope everyone gets a chance to get outside! We should remain relatively dry until the end of next week!

Cheers!!

Everyone be careful today! Mother Nature is off her meds again!

Happy Friday! Man does it feel good outside. The bright sunshine and comfortable weather makes getting everything ready seem a little less daunting 😎

All the raised beds have been amended, the new section with new beds, the cucumber city beds and the 12 foot beds in main raised bed section.

Now to shift gears and head to Big Garden and start to get that bad boy going! Have a great Friday!

We made it! The southern jet stream is inching its way toward spring. What a beautiful week ahead to get stuff done!

10 cyds of compost heading our way tomorrow to fill new beds and amend the others. Exciting times!

The starts are doing well with a couple varieties dragging behind but we will keep up hope! Please
Remember if you pre ordered starts we will do our best to make sure everyone gets what they asked for.

We have some really cool varieties of cucumbers and melons we will be highlighting this week! These guys along with all our squash/zucchini varieties will be started the end of March.

Get outside and get some Vitamin D. 60’s are in the forecast this week followed by typical up and down temps in 50-60s for a few weeks before we start to hit the really warm weather!!!

Have a great day!!

There are many ways you can create a good growing enviroment for your maters. Here are some excellent tips! If you have a tip to add please put into the comments!

Our first Batch of seedlings are doing well and will be up potted in 1-2 weeks then out to the greenhouse. Hold on folks, after this week of wintery weather our pattern shows signs of change!!

Have a great day!

Before you plant your tomato seedling in that hole in the ground you should consider adding one of these 9 amendments for big summer yields.

Tomatoes Hate Cucumbers: Secrets Of Companion Planting and Popular Planting Combinations 🍅🥒👇

1. Differing Water Needs: Cucumbers need consistent moisture to remain juicy and sweet, while tomatoes thrive in drier soil conditions once they’re established. Overwatering tomatoes to meet cucumber needs can cause root diseases due to waterlogged soil.

2. Space and Light Competition: Cucumbers are vigorous climbers or sprawlers that can overshadow tomatoes, limiting their essential sunlight exposure vital for healthy fruit development.

3. Risk of Disease Transmission: Both tomatoes and cucumbers are vulnerable to diseases like powdery mildew and bacterial wilt. Growing them close can accelerate the spread of these diseases.

Ideal Companions for Tomatoes and Cucumbers

1. For Tomatoes:
Basil: Enhances tomato flavor while repelling flies and mosquitoes.
Marigolds: Keep away nematodes and other garden pests.
Carrots: Help loosen the soil, facilitating better air and water flow around the tomato roots.

2. For Cucumbers:
Radishes: Act as a deterrent against cucumber beetles.
Sunflowers: Provide a natural trellis for cucumber vines and attract pollinators.
Lettuce: Benefits from the shade provided by cucumber plants, which helps keep the root environment cool.
