This post is a little late. My schedule has been completely slammed in preparation for the Royal the last few weeks with my real job. So the internet took a backseat.

I was blessed to go to Quest Village to teach some grilling skills to them. It was an awesome afternoon cooking wings and sliders. A couple of them dived right in and helped. We are hoping to do more of these throughout the year. If you have never heard of Quest, Inc. please check them out.

Rum Runners finally made the trek to the American Royal for ourselves. What a trip… It’s a lot of work to line up equipment, meat, tables, tent, and the list goes on. I want to thank the following people for their hardwork of loading extra gear to help us cook.

On to the comp. It’s a large field of amazing cooks and is extremely tough competitors. We entered every category that would could get into. On top of this we kicked Amy Creamer Dopp to the curb as she went to cook chicken for the Shed team. Her goal was to beat me. And she did!! Randy and I held down the fort and made all our turn ins.

We went to wesleychapelhd to cook a wing, sausage, and sauce contest for a great charity Seize The Moment Foundation . There were 10 cooks battling it for all the glory!! We did get to hear our name today with 2nd place wings. We cooked the wings on a Weber kettle over some Royal Oak Super Size Briquettes. Po boy was definitely good!! Thanks to a buddy of mine for flying the sausage on his business trip to Orlando. Most importantly with raised money for the foundation. We definitely stayed hydrated with Hoist in our cooler.
