A fairy egg!

It’s basically a hiccup in the egg making system.
Fairy eggs contain NO YOLK!

Might have to feed this one back to the girls.

Make sure to bust your eggs if you feed them back to your chickens to prevent it looking like an egg.
This will help them from not wanting to eat it as soon as they notice it’s laid.

When we aren’t doing the farm stuff, we’re most likely doing this.

RIP George and Bert.
This sunset is definitely for you two.

In the grand scheme of things, too many roosters is TOO MUCH pressure on your hens.
And our hens suffered daily pecking amongst other things.
It was getting to be too much with too many fights.

So it had to be done.
We honor them by using their feathers for tying flies and their body we consume.

Thank you two for teaching me a harder lesson about life and the permanence of death.

This mullein is freaking huge!

Have always seen these growing like this out of reach or on a roadside as I’m driving…but never here at home.

What an amazing plant to have this year in abundance.

Watching the sun set and rise has always been one of my favorite activities.

Nothing like being blasted with color and receiving its warm embrace.

We’ve been working on a dead hedge fence with all of the branches, small trees, and other woody yard debris we can find.

I really like how this is starting to turn out.
This will make a great wind break and fence to block our sand mound from the driveway.

This also doubles as one of the best habitats for small mammals, birds, and bugs.

All eventually decomposing back to this earth. 🌍
