🍑Another late night of preserving summer at Blue Ridge Farm!🍑
Last night we were back in the kitchen making and canning more homemade peach butter, because these boys have absolutely DEVOURED the first batch! 😂❤️ And this time we tried something new too… homemade peach pie filling! 🥧🍑
After our last batch of peaches, I honestly wasn't sure how this round would go. So many of those peaches ended up being a bust, beautiful on the outside, only to find rotten middles and ants once we cut into them. It was pretty discouraging after all the work that goes into getting everything ready to preserve.
But then came this batch. ❤️
And goodness…God has supplied more than we could have ever thought.
What we thought we had lost with that last batch has been made up for and then some. Our counters have been covered in peaches, jars have been filling up and our pantry is slowly holding little pieces of summer that we'll get to enjoy with our family long after peach season is gone. 🍑
We finally finished up around 1:30 this morning, tired but SO thankful. There is just something special about looking at those jars lined up afterward and knowing the work that went into every single one.
We're learning as we go, trying new things, making mistakes, and filling our pantry one jar at a time and I wouldn't trade it. ❤️
