As the OG restaurant that Panda Express started from, this Glendale spot is one of four locations in the SoCal area, with the original situated in Pasadena. Serving a wide array of meats, seafood, rice, and noodle dishes, there is definitely something for whatever you might be feeling. This bistro located in upcountry Maui serves up some spectacular breakfast options with hearty portions. The location is a perfect stop on the way back to get some food in your belly if you had gone up to Haleakalā National Park to catch the sunrise. Legitimately some of the best poke I've had in quite some time. This Kihei food truck also dishes out grilled fish plates in addition to their traditional and spicy poke preparations, serving up only their fresh catch of the day. Come early to make sure you can pick up some of their delicious seafood before they end up selling out, as the lines will get long quickly. If poke or grilled fish is your thing, this is definitely a place you want to be checking out. (South Maui Fish Company -- Kihei, HI)

This Kihei restaurant's location might be on the smaller side, but the flavors are certainly big and bold. Their menu features some hearty comfort food like katsu, teriyaki, kalua pork, loco moco, and garlic noodles, to name a few. If you're looking for a place to do a quick stop for some ono grindz, this is definitely the place to be. (Da Kitchen -- Kihei, HI)

This neighborhood spot on Maui is run by Top Chef alum Sheldon Simeon, and serves up an array of delicious and hearty plates of food that draw from Hawaiian and Asian flavor influences. A variety of meat, fish, and Hawaiian comfort classics are on the menu, although you might just have a hard time deciding with everything sounding delicious. (Tiffany’s Maui -- Wailuku, HI)

Despite looking pretty unassuming from the outside, this Monterey Park restaurant provides delicious food with large family style portions. Their xiao long bao is flavorful, and they also offer a number of other rice, noodle, and dumpling dishes as well. (Don't sleep on that Taiwanese popcorn chicken though.) If you're in the neighborhood, get here early to avoid the rush, since it seems to get packed pretty quick. (Monterey Park, CA -- P P Pop)

If Japanese handrolls are your thing, this restaurant serves up a nice array of flavors between basic and their "Seabutter Original" combo handrolls at three locations around LA. The use of the fresh seafood accompanied by other added elements kept really great balance with each bite that left you wanting more. This is currently my top handroll spot I'd prefer in LA, and they've set the bar high for other places to compare to. (The Bar by Seabutter -- El Segundo, CA)

Seafood, meat, or vegetarian options come in the form of burritos, tacos, wraps, salads, or mixed plates at this seaside grill located on the east side of Kauai. While the food itself tasted fresh with good flavor, it felt like it was on the more expensive side for what you got. Spam musubi is a mainstay in Hawaii, and this food truck dishes them out in three different locations around Kauai. Their deep-fried Spam musubi is definitely something not to be missed, while they also offer a number of other types of musubi, along with poke as well.
