I recently encountered some remarkable unroasted cacao beans — surprisingly fruity despite their natural bitterness. They are grown by a lady from Osaka, Ms. Asami Okano, who moved to Uganda with her family. Together with the local community, they cultivate cacao and vanilla. Now my kitchen is filled with the beautiful aromas of their vanilla and cacao, and this encounter has inspired a new piece of chocolate. It is now available in our store, and we truly hope you enjoy it.
Asami Okano, originally from Osaka, has devoted herself to building a life in Uganda, working hand in hand with her family and local farmers to grow cacao and vanilla. My first encounter with the cacao from Farm of Africa was unforgettable — the beans are unroasted, yet astonishingly fruity. Moved by her passion and by the purity of these cacao beans, I wanted to share this experience with people in Japan, where cacao itself is still not widely familiar. At last, we have crafted a single precious chocolate to express this story.
The fragrance of vanilla and cacao fills the body with serotonin — the “happiness hormone.” We have only a small quantity available, but sales have begun in our shop. Please enjoy this new creation.
