When you see FOB farm wheat over $8.00 for 2027, it’s a reminder that forward opportunities like this don’t show up every year — especially that far out.
Pricing a portion of future production now isn’t about guessing the top.
It’s about locking in profitable margins, managing risk, and giving yourself confidence in what the next few crop years can return.
Volatility isn’t going away, input costs remain high, and uncertainty is still part of farming. Taking some risk off the table at these levels can make sense.
You don’t have to price everything — but it may be worth asking the question now rather than wishing you had later. 🌾📈
