Hey Shug! Happy Wednesday. I haven’t posted because I really don’t have anything to post. I have basically just been going into town to my favorite coffee shop for my personal bible study time and just hanging out at the cabin. 2 days and a wake up and then the pups and I are on our way home, after their vet appointment. I am going to be pulling a 150sq ft tiny house to Kenai for a client as well. She will be driving her Van and pulling a cargo trailer. So it will be a caravan. So my plans for travel has changed a bit. I won’t be recording much of the trip because I will be focused on this tiny house. Rather than taking my slow time getting to the Kenai Peninsula, now I will be driving straight through to get to the Alaskan border. But I will take pictures here and there at the stops I always stop at when traveling the ALCAN. This should be fun lol. You all have a great rest of your week and I will talk to you soon. Love ❤️ BYE!

Happy May Day Shug! Funny story. So yesterday I talked about how I was going to start vloging the journey and it would start with me going to the storage unit and going through everything. Well I did a video clip going to the storage unit but once I got there, I left my phone in the truck, totally forgetting that I needed to record some of the storage clean out. So no video lol. BUT, I went through everything. Most of it is soap studio stuff. I left the storage until with one trash bag, a tote to take to the dump and a tote for the thrift store. Not bad. Now all is left to do is to finish up at the cabin. Mostly everything is packed up in 3 totes and I am living out of one of my fancy grocery bags lol. From the looks of this photo I just took, I got some more gray hair lol. It’s all good. I like it. But I am not feeling the extra neck rolls lol. It’s all good as well because as soon as I get back to Seldovia, I am hitting the gym and getting snatched! I miss my old weight. This is what happens when you don’t continue to stay in shape. I have no problem aging and getting gray but I do have a problem with getting out of shape. Anyway, 7 days and a wake up Shug!!

Hey Shug! Well here it is, The Shugga Shack! Isn’t it cute! Each move has always been a fresh start for me. I have moved so many times, mostly due to my time serving in the military. But since getting out, I’ve moved five times and now I am getting ready to make my sixth and final move. I have lived in all types of housing, from apartments, condo’s, townhouses, family style homes, mobile home, tiny home, portable shed to cabin and an RV. Each home I have tried to make them feel peaceful and special place to rest.

Within the entire home, my favorite part of the home is the kitchen. Just look at how adorable my kitchen is!! It’s like the builder was looking through my notes and knew exactly how I wanted my kitchen to look. I have always envisioned my kitchen to be a cozy, rustic little haven. For me, my kitchen is the heart of my homestead, a place to cook comfort food that I love and grew up on. When you look at the picture of my kitchen, I see made from scratch meals, bountiful harvest from the garden being washed and prepped for canning, kombucha being brewed, friends cooking together as we prep for our version of Netflix’s Magnolia’s “Pour It Out” nights and quiet moments of making coffee as I get ready for my morning bible study.

I am excited about my new kitchen and all the memories I will make there. I can’t wait to cook my first Sunday dinner and host small dinner parties for my special friends. What do you like most about your kitchen? What are some of the greatest memories you have made in your kitchen?

Hey Shug! We (me and my 3 four-legged children) are 8 days out before we begin our journey back to Seldovia, Alaska. A lot has been going on and honestly, lol, I will be glad when it is over. There weather here has been crazy with all the severe thunderstorms and either Tornado warnings or actual Tornado’s. And don’t even get me started on the ticks. They are satan’s little spawns!! I hate snow but one’s thing for sure, I rather deal with Alaska’s snow than the severe thunderstorms and Tornadoes this area gets.

Have I told you that I despise moving? When I got to Missouri last May, I never even unpacked lol. But today, I am heading to my friend’s storage unit where most of my stuff is stored and I am going through every single box and tote in there. I have been hanging on to stuff and it is time to let some of it go. It’s just sitting in a box and someone else could probably use it. Plus I am not trying to fill my home up with a lot of things that will not be used. Speaking of home, I can’t wait to show it to you. It’s another tiny house! It’s 416 sq ft, which is a little bit bigger than my 12 x 32 cabin here in Missouri. I have another post I will be posting here shortly about it. How many times have you moved in your lifetime and what do you like most about it?

Hey Shug! I think today I am going to start Vloging for Blueberry Hill Homestead. I am not going to change the name of the Facebook or Instagram page but the YouTube Channel will be called Blueberry Hill Homestead - Seldovia, Alaska. Head over and give us a follow for our crazy homestead adventures and my daily life living in Seldovia.

Hey Shug! So I am in the planning phase for Blueberry Hill Homestead. There’s going to be goats(meat & dairy), chickens (meat & eggs), Tamworth Pigs, raised bed gardens, farm tours and farm stays. This summer til next spring I will work on the land, fencing and structures for the animals. Ext summer, fingers crossed, bring the animals to Blueberry Hill and then Spring/Summer 2027 host first farm tour and farm stays.

I’m excited and can’t wait to get started.

Personal Story Time

I thought that I was going to be happy moving back to Missouri. Nope, I was miserable here!! I thought moving back would be the right thing to do to overcome this feeling that I had that I did not share with anyone. I thought what I wanted and needed, I would find it here. NOPE!!

Sadness and depression had kicked in over time and I ended up being in a very dark place a few months ago. I was at a point in my life where I was ready to give up on everything and loose it all. Now I’m not talking about unaliving myself but just giving up. I was willing to loose my business, my home, my land, my truck and even find a new home for my dogs, because at that time, it felt good just giving up. But then I fell to my knees, all snot nosed and crying, begging God to help me. I pleaded to him that I am willing to just stop doing things my way if he just took away the pain, stress and frustrations. Then I heard the most sweetest voice tell me to listen to his words.

He told me to sell everything and move back to Seldovia and continue what I started there. He said that everything that I have wanted was there. But I choose to keep my eyes closed rather than really seeing how blessed I was living there. I met my best friend and became a part of her family, I was a part of a community that accepted me, and I finally felt like I belonged. The only thing missing was a man lol. And he was right! I was more happy there than I was at any other place I have lived. So I said okay!

I gave the my soap business but not the name to my friend and taught her how to make soap. I listed my homestead here for sale and hoping it sells this weekend with this viewing, and I started getting rid of things that I don’t need and packing things up. I left Seldovia May 15, 2025 and I will be returning May 17, 2026. Since that day, I have never felt more free that I feel now.

We are only given so much to see how we handle things. Most of the time, we put ourselves in situations that eventually get out of hand. But we must remember that we serve a mighty God and if we just reach out to him, he will take hold of us in his warm embrace and comfort us, ease our pain and suffering and still love us.

I have shared my story with many people. Some got goose bumps, some got teary eyed, some brushed it off and some laughed. My testimony isn’t meant for everyone but those who it was meant for, they too now see how awesome our God is!

I tell you this not for sympathy but to share how good God is and how he saved me from destroying everything I have worked so hard for. Remember, if you feel lost, go to him because he will bring light to your life and brighter days.
