One of the questions we’ve been getting most often is:
“What exactly will The Way Station carry?”
And also “How will this work?”
The honest answer is: we’re starting intentionally, and building thoughtfully.
Our initial bulk offerings will focus on pantry staples and household essentials — things families actually use every day. Right now, our starting list includes over 50 bulk items such as:
• Wheat berries (including some ancient grains)• Flour, rice, oats, cornmeal & popcorn• Beans, sugars, baking staples & Celtic salt• Vinegar, laundry soap, borax, washing soda, baking soda & more
One thing that’s especially important to our family is offering gluten free options. Our oldest daughter has a severe wheat allergy, so while our gluten free selection will begin modestly, it absolutely matters to us and will continue growing over time. We currently plan to carry gluten free rice, oats, cornmeal, and additional GF staples as we expand.
This store is not meant to appear overnight as a giant finished concept. What we open with is the foundation — and then we’ll continue adding products, listening to the community, and growing intentionally over the next year and beyond.
We also LOVE hearing your suggestions. Several people have already requested additional gluten free items, cloth produce bags, specialty grains, refill items, and more — and we’re actively sourcing and planning as we go.
Our goal is to make The Way Station feel useful, welcoming, practical, and community-driven.
We’ll have glass and paper containers available for purchase, but we also encourage customers to bring their own jars and containers to refill whenever possible.
This whole project has been built around the idea of slowing down a little, wasting less, supporting small businesses, and bringing back some of the old ways that many of us have missed.
And honestly? Seeing how excited this community already is has meant more to us than we can say.
Thank you for believing in this dream with us.
