Is there a barter page for the West Kootenays?
Or even East Kootenays, if there’s a regular traveller willing to bring goods back and forth?

These days, when cash is tight but many of us have an abundance of something we grow or make, it seems like a good time to bring back the old-school barter system—trading what we have for what we need.

Personally, I’d love to trade food in exchange for someone to clean my house weekly, help w**d the garden, or even watch my kids (ha!).
I don’t raise lamb, so I’d be happy to swap what I do have for a few lamb chops or other goodies.

Asking for a friend 😅

(And knowing our luck in Canada lately, this probably counts as illegal too—can’t have folks dodging taxes on a jar of pickles 🙄)

Thanks to the now 5000 supporters of this page. I appreciate your support and comments. I enjoy sharing with you positive examples of ecological and regenerative designs and ideas from the Kootenays and from other parts of the world.

My Ultimate Accomplishment, like if I could do ANYthing... would be to build and grow eco village, a forested living labyrinth, combining Lothlorien : Woven of Living Tree Cathedral Styled Tree Houses (Tolkien), and The Garden of Eden (abundant food forest), complete with activated monoliths that mark the procession of the equinoxes, swales, ponds and playgrounds, sweat houses, hot springs etc. I would use sacred geometry to be assured of harmonic symmetry. The community that lived there would be unified by a shared goal of harmony with self, others, nature and the Great Spirit.

I would feel completely fulfilled in my mission. and I would sit back and spend the rest of my life playing there😍🥳🙏 One day!

If only I could live to be 400 years old, I might be able to see it completed! Lol!
It's still worth a try!😂

I enjoy browsing using Ecosia!
It gives me comfort knowing my browsing online, while I'm researching my polycultures, generates trees being planted all over the world, regenerating barren landscapes sacred to families in need of food security, fecund and prosperous!
