Swede Farm Dairy Swede Farm is a family dairy in Waller Texas where we produce high quality fresh goat and cow milk, flavored milk, yogurt, & cheese. Come see us!

We sell our products in Farmer's Markets in Houston, Texas. We sell our goat milk, cheese, and yogurt at farmers markets in Houston each week. You can find us in the Houston area at the Memorial Villages Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9-1. We also sell cow products now!!

We are so proud of our daughter Katarina, who just so happens to be the main cheesemaker at Swede Farm Dairy! There is going to be a party to celebrate how hard she has worked to get to this point of her art. Come celebrate with us!

You know the line about "best laid plans?" This week's failure comes to you courtesy of FedEx.

In order to turn this milk into cheese we need cultures, and we ran out, so we ordered more. Not a problem. Except when they arrive later in the week than you paid for AND they arrive looking like this...

YES we will have cheese, but not a lot, so come early. We WILL have lots of yogurt, though, so come help a farm pay the bills by buying lots of yogurt, whether as our goat Sweet-n-Greek, cow yogurt smoothies, or what have you. We're gonna have to be leaning heavily on the yogurt this week, so we are looking forward to introducing you to our rich creamy yogurt!

Guys it's really been a slog out here lately...but we're gonna be at the Memorial Villages Farmers Market, rain or shine! Come out and support us and other local farmers who are pushing through the rain, mud, and muck to keep their animals healthy and bring you the best farm-fresh products available.

UPDATE: We "found" her. We went to put something in the dairy and she was standing there waiting to be milked. She wasn't there before, three different people scoured that quadrant of the property separately over the last hour, so I don't know where she was hiding, but she came out from hiding when she decided she wanted to be milked. I won't lie, I threw back a shot of Maker's Mark to calm down afterwards. Thank you so much for praying.

AAAnnnddd in other exciting news, we came home from church and rodeo activities to find one of our cows missing. Gone on walkabout? Abducted by aliens? Eloped?

Everyone is out combing the property for her with thunder rumbling overhead and dark clouds and dusk gathering quickly.

Please pray we find her quickly and that she is well. And keep the crew safe as they are out there looking.

It's rough going on the farm right now. We are still without power. This means we have two serious problems. First, we are on a well, so no electricity means no water as our well pump needs power to bring up the water from the ground. So keeping everyone (people and animals) hydrated and cool(er) is a challenge. The second serious issue is that with the loss of power, we lost the product in our dairy fridges. This is a significant hit as it represents not just the products we would have brought to market this, coming weekend, but also for several weeks to come, including Katarina's beautiful bries. The dollar amount represented literally brings me to a point of panic. Plus it means that when we do milk the cows and goats, it must all be discarded as we have no means to store it (or the ability to scrub the milking equipment as we have no water). Please pray, if you are of the sort to do so. Specifically, we need prayer: That we will be able to keep people and animals safe given the situation. That we will be able to salvage some of the product that we were able to get on ice early in the storm. That power will be restored, and in time to allow us to at least make a minimum of product to bring to the farmers market this coming weekend.
