She agreed to sit down and tell her side of the story. 🎥🐇

For years, people have asked the same question:

“How many rabbits do you actually need?”

She takes a long pause.

Looks directly into the camera.

“That’s when I knew… they didn’t understand.”

What started with one rabbit quickly spiraled into something much bigger.

More cages appeared.

More pedigrees were collected.

More babies were born.

Witnesses claim they heard her mother say:

“We are NOT bringing home another rabbit.”

Records indicate…

that was a lie.

Now, for the first time, she’s ready to speak.

About the breeding.

The shows.

The babies.

The suspicious number of feed bags.

And the family members who repeatedly asked:

“Don’t you already have that color?”

Her response?

“No. That one is broken blue. Completely different.”

This fall, Netflix presents:

One second I’m milking a cow.

The next I’m holding onto a post like a drunk girl outside a Waffle House trying to remember what year it is.

The absolute AUDACITY of kicking me in the face while I’m sitting underneath you performing a service on your ti***es.

Cow: 1
Dog: 0 injuries
Me: seeing sounds
Milk bucket: somehow still standing

And yes…

I finished milking her.

Because this milk cost me my dignity and possibly my jaw, and I was NOT leaving without it. 🫡🥛

I lived to tell the tail. 🐄💀

🐰 3. Tips for When You Breed Your Rabbits

There’s a LOT more to breeding rabbits than just sticking two rabbits together and hoping for babies. 😅

Follow along for the tips, tricks, and lessons I’ve learned from experienced rabbit breeders… and quite a few I learned the hard way. 😂

From choosing the right pair, knowing when your doe is actually receptive, avoiding common breeding mistakes, preparing for kindling, and figuring out what to do when things don’t go according to plan—I’ll be sharing what has worked in our rabbitry.

Because sometimes the best rabbit-raising knowledge comes from someone else saying, “Hey… don’t do what I did.” 🐇🤎.

I joke that I’m raising a little hobbit…

Bare feet.
Always dirty.
A stick that somehow became a fishing pole.
His dog faithfully following him on every adventure.
And he would absolutely stop for second breakfast. 😂🤎

But then I look at these pictures and realize…

this is his Shire.

These dirt roads.
These woods.
The creek.
His animals.
The freedom to wander around with a stick and turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure.

Someday his feet will be bigger.
The stick will probably be replaced by a real fishing pole.
And adventures will take him much farther than the end of our dirt road.

But right now?

His whole world is right here.

And I hope when he’s grown, somewhere deep down, home always feels a little bit like the Shire. 🌿🤎

People have asked me why my “meat” rabbits are nicer than their “pet” rabbits. 😂🐇

Well… it’s genetics about half the time.

And this is the other half. 👇

We handle our babies. Every. Single. Day.
And by “we” sometimes I mean the 3 year old.

From the time they’re little, they learn that hands coming into their space aren’t something to be afraid of. They’re picked up, checked over, loved on, flipped over, ears checked, nails handled, and just generally messed with. 😂

And yes, these are meat rabbits. But that doesn’t mean temperament doesn’t matter to us.

Even if you purchase a breeder doe or buck from us and have absolutely no intention of making them a pet, we still want that rabbit to be pleasant and manageable to work with.

You should be able to reach into their cage to feed them.

You should be able to check their body condition, trim their nails, inspect an injury, palpate a doe, or pull them out of the cage without preparing for battle. 😂

We select for temperament, and then we reinforce it with handling.

Because in my opinion, a good meat rabbit isn’t just about growth rate, litter size, mothering ability, and body type.

Temperament matters too.

A rabbit can have fantastic genetics on paper, but if she’s trying to remove my hand every time I reach into her cage… she’s probably not staying in my breeding program. 😅

Good rabbits should be productive.

But they should also be good to live with. 🤎

There’s something ridiculously satisfying about making butter from scratch. 🧈🤎

Milk the cow.
Skim the cream.
Pour it in.
And somehow… BUTTER.

It still blows my mind a little that we’ve gotten so used to buying everything from the store that doing something humans have done forever feels like some kind of homesteading magic. 😂

And when you’ve cared for the cow, milked her yourself, hauled that milk into the house, separated the cream, and turned it into butter with your own two hands… it just tastes better.

From our cow → to our kitchen → to our table.

This is the kind of “made from scratch” I want more of. 🐄🧈🤎

Who would be interested in a hands-on rabbit butchering class here on the farm?

I know one of the biggest things holding people back from raising rabbits for meat isn’t the raising part… it’s knowing what to do when butcher day comes.

So I’m thinking about offering a class where everything is provided for you.

You literally just show up, choose your rabbit, and we’ll mentor you through the entire process from start to finish.

No rushing you. No standing around watching while someone else does everything.

YOU get the hands-on experience, while we’re right there beside you explaining what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and helping you every step of the way.

We’ll give you time to process what’s happening, ask questions, take a minute when you need one, and learn at YOUR pace. The goal isn’t to make you feel pressured or uncomfortable—the goal is for you to leave thinking:

“Okay. I CAN do this.”

🐇 Rabbit provided
🔪 All processing supplies provided
🤲 Hands-on instruction
🧑‍🌾 Start-to-finish mentorship
❓ Plenty of time for questions
🏡 Small, comfortable farm setting
