This is our compost turner that we have built. 💪

Why do we need a turner, you ask?

Turning your compost is important because it aerates the pile, which is essential for the microbes that break down organic material to thrive; by mixing the materials and introducing oxygen, turning speeds up the composting process and ensures all parts of the pile are actively decomposing evenly.

Myth: Don’t add compost during the winter ❌

Fact: It’s actually good practice to add compost to your soil during winter as it can help improve soil structure, maintain soil temperature and improve water retention. However, the decomposition process will slow down significantly due to colder temperatures but won’t come to a complete stop. ✅
