How to prepare fresh artichokes

🥬 Simple steamed artichokes

1. Cut off the top third of the artichoke.
2. Trim the stem and remove any tough outer leaves.
3. Rub the cut areas with lemon so they don’t turn brown.
4. Steam or boil for about 30–45 minutes, until a leaf pulls out easily.
5. Serve with melted butter, olive oil, lemon and garlic.

How to eat: Pull off each leaf, dip it in your sauce and scrape the soft flesh off with your teeth. When you reach the centre, remove the fuzzy choke—the tender heart underneath is the best part! 😋

It's been a little while since I've checked in, and I thought it was time to let you know what we've been up to. 🤍

Life has taken us on a wonderful new adventure. We've moved to the beautiful little village of Haarlem in the Langkloof, where life is a little slower, the air is a little fresher, and nature is right on our doorstep. It's exactly the kind of place that inspires everything Lol's Tallow stands for.

While we've been settling into our new home, I've also been spending many hours in the soap kitchen. Formulating a shampoo bar isn't as simple as making soap—it takes time, patience and plenty of testing to create a product I'm truly happy to put my name on.

I'm so excited to finally say... it's ready!
