Made warm banana bread today and the best part might not even be the bread. Okay that's a lie the best part is the banana bread but the banana peels are super useful also. Nothing goes to waste at the PawPaw Ridge compound.
I know the first question people ask is about sprays and chemicals. That is a fair concern. I always scrub the peels hard under warm water and soak them in a vinegar rinse before dehydrating. Buying organic bananas when you can is even better. Peels are thick and protective, but washing and soaking gives an extra layer of confidence before using them in food or garden projects.
Once dehydrated and powdered, banana peels turn into a super ingredient.

What most people see as trash is usually just unused potential.
What other scraps are you turning into something useful instead of throwing away?
