We are looking at stocking whole pork cheeks for our clients should there be a demand for it.

We can currently source it at R100.00 p/kg depending on the quantity we order. Larger orders will result in a reduction of that cost which we will pass onto our clients.

Pork cheek meat is known for its rich, succulent flavor and tender texture. The marbling of fat throughout the meat adds to its richness, making it ideal for slow cooking methods such as braising or stewing.

Chicken skins, cut into small pieces and season with a little bit of MSG and salt or just granulated chicken bouillon. Fry with its own fat until golden crispy.

They're called skilpadjies in Afrikaans which translates as "little tortoises" in English.

Skilpadjies is a traditional South African food, also known by other names such as muise and vlermuise. The dish is lamb's liver wrapped in nekvet, which is the fatty membrane that surrounds the kidneys.

Many people are quite familiar with lamb or pork shanks. Have you ever thought of Beef Shank commonly known as Thor's Hammer or the Caveman's Lollipop?

These are normally around 2kg in weight. It has the most flavour when it's left alone to cook slowly. If any meat was designed to be slow cooked, it's this one. The marrow melts from the middle and adds flavour to the gravy, and the meat becomes so soft and delicate it falls off the bone!
