Some of the best Sunday traditions begin
around the table 🇿🇦
When All Gold send me their new Hot & Spicy Tomato sauce along with a few heritage inspired goodies, it reminded me of just how special Sunday traditions are.
Inspired by that feeling, I made a Spicy Boerewors Breakfast Dish thats perfect for sharing.
The new All Gold Hot & Spicy Tomato Sauce brings the rich tomato flavour we all know and love, with a delicious kick of heat that takes every bite up a notch 🌶️
No matter how much life changes, there’s something comforting about gathering around the table with good food and the people you love.

My mom’s Apple Pie Recipe 🫶🏼
While you are shopping for the ingredients for this recipe at Pick n Pay, keep an eye out for the special marked bags of Dutoit apples!
These have a hidden collectible magnet inside and if you collect all 4, you can enter the competition to win a one of a kind ceramic pie dish by , personalised with your family’s mantry.

Ingredients
2 rolls store bought shortcrust pastry
6 Dutoit apples, peeled and chopped to bite sized pieces (i used a mix of Golden Delicious and Royal Gala apples)
2 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup brown sugar juice of half a lemon
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp mixed spice
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 egg beaten

- Add the apples to a bowl then add the cornstarch, spices, sugar, vanilla essence, lemon juice and mix well.
�- Press the shortcrust pastry into the pie dish and fill with apple mixture.
�- Top with the rest of the shortcrust pastry. You can create any design here. If you are covering the top fully with pastry instead of doing lattice, make a hole in the middle about the size of an R1 coin so that the steam can escape.
�- Brush with the beaten egg.
�- Bake at 180 degrees for 45 mins until the pastry is golden.
�- Allow to cool for 30 mins before slicing.

I used the Dutoit Golden delicious and Royal Gala apples for textural contrast.
Golden delicious apples are sweet and don’t break down alot when baking whilst the Royal Gala apples are sweet soft and break down when baked creating a lovely filling!

Peanut Butter Cup Bars Recipe ✨
Its nutty, great tasting, so easy to put together and packed with protein!
My family and I are nuts about this Yum Yum Peanut butter cup bar.
Made with Yum Yum peanut butter, these bars have that rich nutty flavour in every bite.
These are great for school or work snacks especially
when you are busy and dont have time. Thats what makes Yum Yum peanut the must have pantry staple.

ingredients
2½ cups oats
½ cup almonds (optional)
⅓ cup honey or syrup
400g Yum Yum Smooth peanut butter
½ cup chopped dark chocolate

-Pop the oats and almonds in a blender and blitz til it forms a flour.
-Add to a bowl and set aside
-In another bowl add the Yum Yum peanut butter and honey.
-Microwave for 30 seconds then mix together.
-Pour over the oat mixture and mix well.
—Line a tray or baking dish with baking paper or wax paper
-Press the mixture in.
-Melt the chocolate and pour over
-Leave in the fridge to set for 10 mins before slicing
-You can add flakey sea salt on top as well.

Method

- Pour over the oat mixture and mix well.
- Line a tray or baking dish with baking paper and then Press the mixture in.
- Melt the chocolate and pour over then leave in the fridge to set for 10-15 minutes.
- You can add flakey sea salt on top as well.

Slice into bars and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can make this with any Yum Yum variant but smooth is my favourite ♥️

The Best smashburgers
I have had in a while😍
is known for their smashburgers and bro fries. They have three locations 📍fourways, norwood and ladium. They are also halaal. We ordered the following but remember menus and pricing can change

Truffle burger - R135
Bro burger - R105
Hot honey chicken burger - R115
Bro fries - R95

You can order the burgers on its own or with chips for an extra cost but personally i would order the burger on its own and get the bro fries 😍
The bro fries remind me of animal style fries. It has their house made bro sauce, cheese sauce, caramelised onions and gherkins with beef bits. The caramelised onions add a lovely depth of flavour while the beef adds a lovely texture and meaty flavour.

As for the burgers 🥹😍 While i was there, alot of people came in to get the bro burger and i fully see why its a classic. Its a double patty smash burger. The beef is seasoned and smashed so that the edges are slightly crispy while the inside is still juicy with the cheese that melts inbetween to bring everything together.

My husband loved the truffle burger. That was his favourite because of the truffle aioli. I loved that they used a mild mozarella cheese to allow the truffle flavour to stand out.

If you love chicken burgers then the hot honey chicken burger is also a must try. The batter on the outside of the chicken is crunchy but the chicken is still juicy inside. I loved that the hot honey wasnt too sweet but complimented the chicken.

Overrall, i would definitely recommend checking out for a chilled day out with the family or friends 🫶🏼
