It starts in the vineyards.

With early mornings, long days and people who care about getting things right.

It is Louis checking the vines. Susan being part of the many details that keep a family business moving. It is the people in the vineyard and cellar who put their time and knowledge into every vintage.

🍷 Today, we celebrate a w**e that is unmistakably South African.

It is International Pinotage Day and we are raising a glass of Le Sueur Paradoks.

Pinotage was born from Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Le Sueur W**es took up the challenge to recreate this fusion, blending Pinot Noir from the cool Langeberg/Garcia ward with Cinsault from Swartland vines planted in 1998.

The result is Paradoks — a soft and elegant red with ripe red fruit, cherries, spice, subtle oak and beautifully smooth tannins.

A different expression of the two grapes that gave us Pinotage. A paradox to the better-known Pinotage varietal w**es. Natural, unfiltered and unrefined..

Here is to Pinotage, its origins and the w**es inspired by its story. 🇿🇦🍷

🍇 After the quiet of winter, the vines are waking up and the landscape is beginning to change.

For Louis, these are some of the moments he loves sharing with his boys.

Walking between the vines. Looking closely at the new growth. Getting their hands dirty. Asking questions and learning that every bottle of w**e starts with what happens right here in the vineyard.

They are still young, but these are the experiences that become part of who they are. And for Louis, there is something special about watching his boys discover the same place that has been such a big part of his own life. ❤️
