π₯ It is BRAAI time!
The fire is going.
The smell of smoke is in the air.
You hear the sizzle when the meat hits the grill.
Sticky sauce on your fingers.
Mouths watering.
These sticky honey and garlic chicken skewers are made for exactly that kind of afternoon.
Sweet, smoky, savoury and just a little sticky β paired with a bottle of Le Sueur Cinsault. π·
You will need:
β‘οΈ 800 g chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
β‘οΈ 3 tbsp honey
β‘οΈ 2 tbsp soy sauce
β‘οΈ 3 garlic cloves, crushed
β‘οΈ 1 tbsp olive oil
β‘οΈ 1 tbsp lemon juice
β‘οΈ 1 tsp smoked paprika
β‘οΈ Salt and freshly ground black pepper
β‘οΈ Fresh coriander or parsley to finish
β‘οΈ Wooden or metal skewers
Method:
1οΈβ£ Mix the honey, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and smoked paprika.
2οΈβ£ Add the chicken and toss until well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3οΈβ£ Thread the chicken onto skewers.
4οΈβ£ Cook over medium-hot coals, turning regularly and brushing with the remaining marinade until beautifully caramelised and cooked through.
5οΈβ£ Finish with fresh coriander or parsley and a squeeze of lemon.
