"Pride Month is an annual observance celebrated in June that honors the culture, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Its origins trace back to the Stonewall Riots in New York City, a series of historic protests against police brutality and systemic discrimination that began on June 28, 1969.
The Stonewall Riots occurred after police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in Greenwich Village. Because homosexuality was largely criminalized at the time, police routinely targeted and harassed gay bars. However, that night, patrons, staff, and local community members pushed back, resulting in days of demonstrations that catalyzed the modern gay liberation movement. To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the uprising, organizers held the first Pride march in Manhattan on June 28, 1970.
Dubbed the Christopher Street Liberation Day March, this protest march sparked a global movement. While the United States officially recognizes June as Pride Month, different regions and countries often celebrate at varying times of the year. For example, South Africa also honors its own local LGBTQ+ history in October, marking the first South African Pride march held in Johannesburg on October 13, 1990. "

As Tipsy Doctors we stand with the LGBTQ community and we have decide to help raise awareness by changing from our normal black branding to the pride colours till the end of October given that pride month officially starts in June in the United States of America and ends at the end of October in South Africa.
