Discover Lord’s Wines – A Hidden Gem in the McGregor Mountains

Nestled in glorious isolation at the end of the McGregor Valley in South Africa, Lord’s Wines is a boutique winery producing exceptional cool-climate wines at 500m above sea level. Our vineyards thrive in the unique terroir of the McGregor Mountains, creating wines of outstanding character and elegance. Founded in 2006 by viticulturist Jacie Oosthuizen, Lord’s Wines began its journey with the first Pinot Noir harvest. Today, our handcrafted selection includes MCC Brut, MCC Brut Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, and our flagship Pinot Noir. Each grape is hand-harvested to ensure premium quality, bringing out the best flavours from our distinctive high-altitude vineyards. Lord's Wines was established in 2006 when viticulturist Jacie Oosthuizen turned his love for wine and cricket into a cellar.

Our Founder's W**e Club members have already tasted w**es the rest of the world is still waiting for.

On the Saturday of our Founder's W**e Club Weekend (2 to 4 October), we took our members behind the cellar doors in McGregor for a barrel and tank tasting. Jacie drew samples straight from the barrels and stainless steel tanks. He poured vintages that are still growing into themselves and walked everyone through how a w**e is made, from the first pressing to the moment it is ready for the bottle.

With glasses in hand, our members asked the questions they had always wondered about, and Jacie answered every one. Then came the best part. Everyone tasted those young w**es alongside our current releases and saw how time and patience shape what eventually reaches your table.

Thank you to every member who joined us. It was a privilege to share these w**es with you long before they reach the bottle.

The Golden Draw box at Platform 62 is filling up fast. If you are already in it, well played, keep going. If you are not, here is your sign.

Every bottle of Lord’s between now and 31 December is another shot at a weekend that starts at the cellar door and ends at the estate.

How to enter:
Buy your favourite Lord’s W**es at Platform 62, Ashton. Every R350 spent earns you one entry, so R700 is two entries, R1,050 is three, and so on. Ask your server for an entry card, complete all fields and pop it in the box.

Entries close 31 December 2026. Three winners will be drawn at the beginning of 2027. Terms and conditions apply.

Three w**es. Three gold medals. One small valley at the end of the road.

We are proud to share that three of our w**es have been honoured at the 2026 Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, the French competition that has been tasting and scoring the world’s w**es since 1989.

Lord’s MCC Brut: Double Gold, 91 points
Lord’s Shiraz: Double Gold, 90 points
Lord’s Three Barrel Chardonnay: Gold

Each of these bottles began in our vineyards in McGregor, 500 metres up in the Robertson Valley, shaped by the mountains, the seasons and a great deal of patience. To see them stand among w**es from across the world is a quiet joy, and a reminder of why we do what we do.

The Founder’s W**e Club Weekend | Part One

On Friday, 2 October, our Founder’s W**e Club members found their way back to McGregor. The weekend began the way all good weekends should, with a glass of MCC Brut Rosé in hand and the fires already lit.

As evening settled over the valley, we gathered around long tables for a braai. The w**e was poured generously and the conversation flowed just as freely. Then came Deal or No Deal: The W**e Edition. There were nerves, brave calls and a fair amount of friendly heckling, and by the end of the night a few lucky members were carrying home cases of Lord’s.

Thank you to every member who joined us. You turned a Friday night into one we will remember for a long time.

This was only the beginning. Saturday’s story, from the cellar to the dinner table, follows soon.

The fire is lit, the MCC Brut Rosé is chilled, and the Founder’s W**e Club Weekend officially opens this evening at Lord’s W**es, McGregor.

Deal or No Deal, The W**e Edition: a row of sealed boxes, each one up for bidding. Some hold something special from our cellar. Some hold nothing at all. Every table told part of the story. Dusty blues against warm stone, mismatched candles in blush and plum, dahlias and citrus tucked between the glassware, all of it lit by chandelier light as the sun went down over McGregor.



This is what we love about a Lord's W**es celebration. The estate gives you the bones, old stone, big skies, barrels waiting to be dressed as something new, and from there the only limit is imagination. Stephan and Natasha's decor brought colour and warmth into every corner of the venue, proof that a reception here can be exactly as bold or as understated as a couple wants it to be.



Congratulations again to two people who know how to set a beautiful table.
