Apart from our much-loved Olijvenkraal Shiraz, today we’re shining the spotlight on our maiden Brut Rosé MCC.
Crafted from Shiraz rather than the more traditional sparkling varieties, it’s a rare and remarkable expression that showcases the incredible versatility of this cultivar. After spending 12 months on the lees, it reveals delicate strawberry notes, a fine, elegant mousse and a subtle touch of Shiraz spice on the finish.
As our winemaker, Wynand Pienaar, explains:
“Shiraz isn’t a very well-known variety for MCC, and it’s a little more difficult to make. The lovely strawberry notes come through beautifully, while the spiciness of the Shiraz shows at the end. I think we’ve got a superb product here.”
Today, we’re raising a glass to Shiraz in all its forms - from our bold, much-loved Shiraz to our elegant Brut Rosé MCC.
