The Gamtoos Valley in South Africa has been left devastated after severe flooding swept through homes, farms, roads, and surrounding communities. 🇿🇦
Families have had to evacuate their homes with little warning, while others have lost furniture, clothing, food supplies, school items, and basic household necessities. Schools, clinics, and critical access routes have also been affected, with the full extent of the damage still being assessed.⛔️
Amy Bell Charities is now working alongside trusted local contacts and long-time friends on the ground to help identify the areas of greatest need and provide immediate relief to affected families and children.
Over the past few days, an initial Blue Bag relief drop has already taken place, helping distribute locally donated essentials including clothing, food, soap, and other immediate necessities to families navigating the aftermath of the floods. 💙
Over the coming days, our team will continue visiting communities, schools, clinics, and households to assess urgent needs, including:
• Food and clean drinking water
• Blankets and clothing
• School supplies and school uniforms
• Basic household essentials
• Medical and clinic support where needed
Helping children and communities through times of crisis has always been at the heart of Amy Bell Charities, and we are committed to standing alongside the people of the Gamtoos Valley during this incredibly difficult time.
Please keep the families affected by these floods in your thoughts and prayers as recovery efforts continue. 💙
