MEET THE TEAM | TRAVIS
If you’ve been following ZOUT, you’ve probably seen the salts. Now it’s time to meet one of the people behind them.
I’m Travis, and ZOUT was born in 2021 from an idea shared by myself, my partner and my brother: to take our love and passion for natural salts, seasonings and good food and share it with the world.
Salt is something that runs a little deeper for us, too. Our family has been involved in salt production for more than three decades, giving us a genuine connection to the ingredient at the heart of everything we do.
What started as an idea has grown into a journey of developing unique flavours, experimenting with new combinations and creating handcrafted products that bring something special to the everyday kitchen.
I’m involved in a little bit of everything, from developing flavours and testing recipes to shaping the brand, packaging and getting ZOUT into the hands of people who love good food.
And yes, there is a considerable amount of tasting involved.
For us, ZOUT is about taking something incredibly simple and showing just how much character it can bring to a dish.
It’s about natural ingredients, bold flavour, good food and creating something that feels distinctly South African, while still finding its place in kitchens everywhere.
Three decades of salt. Five years of ZOUT. A passion for flavour that’s only just getting started.
