👔⚽ FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND MINI SNACK PLATTER ⚽👔

Father’s Day is tomorrow! Get ready to spoil Dad with a simple, delicious Mini Match-Day Snack Platter made with easy Pick n Pay favourites.

Perfect for a smaller family snack board, this platter has just the right mix of crispy, meaty, cheesy and fresh bites for Dad to enjoy while watching the football. All ingredients are available at Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Serves: 2–4
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
🛒 500g Pick n Pay chicken wings
🛒 1 tbsp Pick n Pay braai spice or chicken spice
🛒 1 tbsp cooking oil
🛒 2 tbsp BBQ sauce

🛒 400g Pick n Pay boerewors
🛒 1 small packet Pick n Pay potato wedges or oven chips
🛒 100g Pick n Pay biltong slices
🛒 100g Pick n Pay cheddar cheese, cut into cubes
🛒 1 packet Pick n Pay tortilla chips or potato chips
🛒 1 tub Pick n Pay dip, such as hummus, sour cream and chive dip, or sweet chilli cream cheese

Fresh sides:
🛒 1 carrot, cut into sticks
🛒 ½ cucumber, cut into sticks
🛒 1 small punnet cherry tomatoes

To serve:
🛒 Tomato sauce
🛒 Mustard
🛒 Chutney

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
2. Toss the chicken wings with braai spice, oil and BBQ sauce. Bake or air-fry for 25 minutes, or until golden, sticky and cooked through.
3. Bake the potato wedges or oven chips according to the packet instructions.
4. Braai or pan-fry the boerewors for 12–15 minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
5. Cut the cheddar cheese into cubes and prepare the carrot and cucumber sticks.
6. Arrange the wings, boerewors bites, wedges, biltong, cheese cubes, chips, dip and fresh veggies on a board or large plate.
7. Add tomato sauce, mustard and chutney on the side for dipping.

⚽🔥 FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FEAST 🔥⚽
Brazilian-Inspired Chicken Skewers with Garlic Butter Pap

Friday night football calls for flame-grilled flavour! Bring a taste of Brazil to your match-night table with juicy, spiced chicken skewers served with a proudly South African garlic butter pap twist.

It’s smoky, simple, family-friendly and perfect for enjoying before kick-off. All ingredients are available at Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Serves: 4–6
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
For the skewers:
🛒 600g Pick n Pay chicken breast fillets or boneless thighs, cut into cubes
🛒 2 tbsp cooking oil
🛒 2 tbsp lemon juice
🛒 2 tsp crushed garlic
🛒 1 tsp paprika
🛒 1 tsp ground cumin
🛒 ½ tsp chilli flakes, optional
🛒 1 tsp salt
🛒 ½ tsp black pepper
🛒 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
🛒 1 yellow pepper, cut into chunks
🛒 1 red onion, cut into chunks
🛒 Wooden or metal skewers

For the garlic butter pap:
🛒 2 cups maize meal
🛒 5 cups water
🛒 1 tsp salt
🛒 3 tbsp butter
🛒 1 tsp crushed garlic
🛒 ½ cup grated cheddar cheese, optional
🛒 2 tbsp chopped parsley or coriander, optional

Method:
1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes.
2. Place chicken in a bowl. Add oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, cumin, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Mix well and marinate for 10–15 minutes.
3. Thread chicken, peppers and onion onto the skewers.
4. Braai or grill over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, turning often, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
5. For the pap, bring water and salt to the boil. Slowly whisk in maize meal, reduce the heat, cover and cook for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Melt butter in a small pan, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir the garlic butter into the pap. Add cheese if using.
7. Serve the skewers hot with garlic butter pap and a sprinkle of herbs.

Flame-grilled, full of flavour and ready for Friday night football! ⚽🔥
