Stocking a wine cellar doesn’t mean buying the most expensive bottles you can find. It means choosing wines with the structure to become even more interesting over time.

These are three South African cellar-worthy wines I’d make space for: Ken Forrester FMC Chenin Blanc, Meerlust Rubicon and Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage. Plus one important reminder: not every wine needs ageing — a fresh Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc is often at its best enjoyed now.
Which one would you open first? 🍷

Save this for your next wine-shop visit, and send it to your wine friend.

Your mouth already knows tannins—even if you don’t know how to describe them yet.
That drying, gripping sensation after a sip of red wine? That’s tannin at work.
This Wednesday, go beyond an ordinary wine tasting with the Liquid Art Wine Components Masterclass: Tannins.

Over two focused hours, you’ll learn how to:
🍇 Identify where tannins come from
🍷 Compare tannins across different wines
🧠 Understand their effect on structure, texture and ageing
🌡️ Manage tannins through serving and decanting
🥩 Pair tannic wines with the right foods

Move beyond simply liking a wine—learn to recognise, explain and understand what’s happening in your glass.

This isn’t an ordinary wine tasting. It’s a deep-dive Wine Components Masterclass.

Why do some red wines leave your mouth feeling dry? Why do bold reds soften with age? And why can a steak make Cabernet Sauvignon taste smoother?
The answer is tannins—one of wine’s most important and misunderstood structural components.

Join Enjoy Liquid Art in Pretoria for an expert-guided Tannins Wine Masterclass featuring comparative wine tasting, practical demonstrations and knowledge you can apply to every bottle.

You’ll learn how to:
🍇 Trace tannins from grape skins, seeds, stems and oak
🍷 Compare tannins across guided wine samples
🧠 Understand their effect on structure, texture and ageing
🥩 Pair tannic red wines with the right foods
🌡️ Manage tannins through serving, glassware and decanting

This focused two-hour masterclass is ideal for curious wine enthusiasts who want to move beyond simply liking a wine—and start recognising, describing and understanding what is happening in the glass.

Big ideas are always better over a great glass of wine.

Today’s “work lunch” at Stellenbosch Wine Bar in Hazelwood was all about dreaming bigger, refining ideas, and planning what’s next for Enjoy Liquid Art.

We believe wine should be approachable, fun and shared with great people—and that’s exactly what we’re building. New experiences, fresh ideas and exciting opportunities are all on the horizon.

Of course, every successful planning session needs a little research… and what better place to do it than a wine bar? 😉

Keep an eye on this page… we can’t wait to share what’s coming next. 🍇✨

Wine tasting isn’t about finding a dozen poetic words or impressing the person next to you.

It’s about slowing down long enough to notice what’s already in your glass. 🍷

At How to Taste Like a Pro, Sam will show you how to:

👀 Read a wine before tasting it
🌀 Swirl with purpose
👃 Find and describe aromas
🍋 Recognise tannin, acidity and body
🛒 Choose future bottles with more confidence

This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly evening for anyone who enjoys wine and wants to understand it a little better.

No tests. No pretension. No need to arrive knowing the difference between tannin and terroir.

Most people swirl their wine—but do you know why? 🍷

Swirling introduces oxygen, helping the wine release more of its aromas. Suddenly, there’s more to smell, more to notice and more to enjoy.

And no, you don’t need an aggressive restaurant-style whirl. Keep the glass on the table and make small, controlled circles. That’s all it takes.

It’s the moment wine stops being just a drink and starts becoming liquid art.

Want to learn how to look, swirl, smell and taste with confidence?
